The fast burn-off says to me that the NHL forced every team to participate in this and requires them to be worn a minimum number of games between mid-November and the All Star break. So, the Flames are just getting it over with and moving on, knowing they're not going to be popular.

Think you nailed it, some of the justifications by Flames representation are nonsensical.

The design grows on me the more I see it. Too bad about the paneling flaw, though.

Yeah it's probably nostalgia talking but I'm kinda digging it, agreed I think I prefer it over the original pedestals. Partly due to the awesome white C with the spaced "San Diego" outline. I prefer it to the new Blasty, but I was never on board with any era of Blasty.
The original Blasty was better than the new RR, but I don't like the sleeves on the new Blasty, they shouldn't stuck with the original sleeve design. The V on the sleeves reminds me of late 70s/early 80s Canucks. Though I do like how they added the subtle Flames at the bottom of the sleeves anyway.

I’m not a harsh jersey critic like some and although I wasn’t a big fan of the pedestal jerseys I was open to a different interpretation and IMO they look fine except that line just makes it look weird. It wasn’t part of the original so I would love to hear from the designers why they thought it would de a good idea to implement a feature that just doesn’t belong on a hockey jersey.

All I know is this is going to lead to confusion for many during playoff C of Red time.

I remember reading about how with the original pedestal jersey they had to change the way jerseys were designed in order to get that diagonal stripe in there (I think it was CCM at the time). My guess is that for a reverse retro, Adidas wasn't interested in doing that so they came up with this panel solution.

The difference is the striping on the original pedestal jerseys was dyed. On the new one the stripes on the bottom and on the shoulders appear to be separate dyed pieces that are sewn on to the underlying jersey, hence the seams and noticeable mismatch between the fabric weaves of the bottom stripes and the rest of the jersey.

BB: My friend Gary Makar — his son, Cale Makar, plays for the Avalanche now — Gary is the one who modeled that first [prototype] uniform, so it might have been his face. I’m not sure, though.

Makar destined to be a Flame. He dates a Calgary girl too, hopefully he puts a ring on her finger and she wants to live closer to family...

If he wants to play with McDavid when Makar's a UFA in 2027, he'll have to sign out East..

Feel free to roast me if this is an obvious answer....
Went to buy a Lucic RR jersey online but the only option is Markstrom and I dont see anywhere to alter that.
Anybody have any luck with that?

Pick the blank one and it gives you an option to customize the jersey.
