I wouldn’t mind seeing the actual stats on that to be honest. I have no idea how to find them though.

I agree with you but would like to know who gets more O zone starts, tougher competition, etc. see if this is the case with analytics.

The good thing about the Flames is that it doesn’t matter that much, at least not through the top 3 lines. And Rooney isn’t that bad either.

Competition is harder to assess at this time, but in terms of zone starts the Kadri line has been given the high ground at this point.

Kadri: 67.6% offensive zone Faceoff
Rooney: 53.8% offensive zone Faceoff
Backlund: 50.9% offensive zone Faceoff
Lindholm: 50% offensive zone Faceoff

To me it feels like the Lindholm line is most often on the ice with the opposing team's top lines. Kadri's EVS goal was scored with the Poehling / McGinn / Kapanen line on.

Oiler fans get upset when they talk about Flames C depth because they think only their team is deep at C. No one else.

Flames have three bonafide centermen that can play on the top two lines, Lindholm-Kadri-Backlund. This is irrefutable.

The makeup of this team just looks so great right now. For the first time in 30 years it looks like the Flames have 4 solid lines that are actually performing in their roles. 2 top 6 lines, a solid 3rd line that plays shut down hockey and can contribute offensively, and a fourth line that brings energy, physical play, and jams pucks at the net....and don't get me started on the defence.

One of the funniest ATLs I’ve seen in a bit.

Penguin fans are good sports and Oiler fans are just idiots.

Oilers fans also lie about their center depth...90% of the time either Drai or Nudge are playing the wing

This.

The Oilers would have the best center depth in the league if they actually played McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH, and McLeod/Ryan as their 4 centers.

But one of RNH or Drai plays wing 99% of the time.

Love how salty Oiler fans are about our good start. It must drive them nuts to look at the current standings.
Also it's hilarious that they think the Flames are media darlings. Good grief, that fan base is delusional.

So the Oilers fans think Huberdeau isn't playing well at all, but huberdeau still has 5 points in 6 games and the team is 5-1... if this is what they think Huberdeau playing bad is like, they must think he's really, really good.

Funny part is I don't think they are wrong.

I think he looked okay in game 1, and looked good last night, but don't think he was great in games 2-5.

But that's the amazing part. When he's not at his best he's still producing at a 70 point pace, I think once he figures it out, and Lindholm starts to look like himself again, then they will really take off.
