Good write up.

Markstrom had an awesome game (thankfully we can say that since the offside goal was waved off). Huge 3rd.

Flames stuck in it and won. So many iterations of this team the last several years would have folded. They need to get on the road.

Special teams and goaltending win. Very happy with the 2 points.

I was thinking the same thing in the first period in that it looked like two games in a row where they eastern teams were just too fast for them. It does highlight how important it is for the Flames to play their system as they do not have the speed to trade chances with faster teams.

Outplayed considerably? On the 1st for sure, 2nd they outplayed Carolina and the 3rd and overtime were pretty even

I thought they held on for dear life in the third and was happy to see them get a point. Don't think they deserved to get two but that's hockey, good teams find ways to win even on off nights.

Most of the Carolina damage was done in the first period for sure.

But it just felt like a loss waiting to happen for most of the third, and good chunks of the second.

The Flames had only one high danger scoring chance five on five in the entire game, and none in the final 40 minutes.

Shot count was decent but they were all perimeter.

Yeah Carolina does not give up much. That's a team that checks pretty hard, and having lost to Edmonton and giving up a 5 goals I wasn't surprised that they played a tight game. It's no too often that team does not win when they have a 2-0 lead.

As somebody who leads the entire forum in typos, I found the typo on the word typo comforting.

Totally agree with the sentiment though. Results are not really matching processes. They need to be better
