Families always had one, Mom still does. I had to reset the weights every 5-7 days I think.

How was the upkeep on those things?
My wife might kill me for "dragging home more junk", but if I were able to obtain one of these, I totally bring it home and have it set up somewhere in my man cave. I'd turn the chime off, but I feel like it'd be something that would give it that extra level of ambience to a scotch sipping type of poker game/evening chat.... or to contemplate life with a cigar while watching the mechanisms move in that stable and constant pattern.

Do any Costco’s still stock those large 22kg boxes of cat litter? I was at Sarcee last weekend and it’s like it doesn’t exist anymore. Still shows up on the web though.

Hit and miss. Sometimes they have stock, and sometimes they don’t. We make sure to have extra on hand at home to cover those shortages.

I kinda wish Costco would have some placeholders or at least indicate if something has been discontinued or they just ran out temporarily.

If you look at the price tags and it has an asterisk on it that indicates a product that will not be restocked at Costco.

What happened to cinnamon knots? It's like bakeries and grocery stores forgot about them. Or maybe I just imagined their existence.

Glamorgan bakery show cinnamon twists on their site. Or is that something different?

Ah. I was not aware of this. Fortunately though Heritage Costco had cat litter and egg nog! I don’t care what time of year it is, egg nog is for any time!
Also, butter toffee cashews… drool.

Hit and miss for us too, although we did get some at Beacon Hill a couple of weeks ago. IIRC this seems to be a recurring event in early winter as people buy the stuff for their vehicles to help with traction in icy conditions.

Did he make you try it in front of him? You've drank your buddy's "nature harvest."

I inherited one. It doesn't work. My Dad spent 56 years planning on fixing it. I will likely do the same.

I can’t recall it ever needing maintenance while I lived at home and she’s never mentioned anything after. If we were away on longer vacations the weights would settle at the bottom so we just reset the hands and weights and it carried on.

Cinnizeo has them all the time I think. Other stores I think struggle to sell cinnamon buns, so I can see why they don't bother with cinnamon knots.

Egg nog without alcohol is not real egg nog.
Faux egg nog is still delicious.

I have no idea.
All I know is every Christmas we get pissed before a game and loss by a huge margin, however the refs usually join for a post game 'nog or two.

Drinking nog before a game regardless of it's alcohol content is pretty much guaranteed loss time right there! All that heavy liquid sitting in my stomach, I wouldn't be able to move.

We need to find a better cat litter. What’s your best value (price to effectiveness to least-tracked).
We tried a few of those so called dust free ones in the big ~15kg boxes from Walmart. Talk about a messy disaster. I was trying to get away from the expensive gel absorption ones but may have to go back as the dusty mess isn’t worth it for us or the cat.
