I do like that they have Ross Tucker on in the mornings as their NFL insider as IMO he's pretty funny and played the game so he has more to add than a lot of the insiders that are reporters.

The barn burner boys are no doubt better, but Russic is decent. Vastly improved from the summer with he likes of will nault.
I like the fact that I can listen to the fan first thing and switch to barn burner shortly after russic is done.

People who don't follow the NFL loathe the NFL segments just like those who don't follow the Jays hated the Jays talk. I don't follow football so change it whenever they're talking about the NFL.

I put myself in the turn-off when they go to the phones. I know Jim Rome isn't the best example, but he would always say "more of me, less of you makes the show better" -but then still have people call in with their so-called takes, so lol.
Anyway, I don't want to hear what Mike from Canmore has to say about anything - at least not since John Morgan passed.

I don't mind baseball segments. I just can't handle an hours of it on end. I can't imagine why anyone would loathe a segment that lasts 15 minutes at most. I guess I'm surprised how many people that hate sports tune into a sports station only to get angry that they are talking about sports.

Jim Rome will roast the #### out of a caller if the call isn't refined, focused, coherent and short. That's what sets Rome apart from others. If a caller is good (and there are some good ones out there), he lets them go.
You get some godawful takes and Rusic tries to let them down easy. Sometimes cringey.

I find that sports fans in this town are just hockey fans pretending to be sports fans until someone starts talking about another sport.

I don’t see how this Russic and Rose show will amount to much. Huge shoes to fill and since the Barnburner boys are back I am not going back and listening to the morning show podcast very often. I tuned in for about a minute and heard some fan caller talk about how Vladar and Wolf will be the tandem next year and turned that crap off
In the morning I find myself catching up on the previous days flames talk. Basically flames talk and Barnburner are the only shows I make an effort to listen to live or on the podcast daily.

I'm not opposed to call-ins. But not every day. It's turning into a crutch. That's why you have a text line. Read a few of them, similar to what Pat does, and that's how you can continue the engagement with your listeners.
