Funny, I figured at the start of the season that goaltending would do the Knights in. Turns out it was their only good point tonight. Flames simply outclassed them.
Easy to get on him for not finishing but he’s been robbed a couple times and a couple posts.
Working hard, skating better than last year, and getting to the right spot to get those chances.
To me Huberdeau has been the one on the top line that is adjusting to playing Darryl Sutter hockey and looked a bit off. For Weegar and Kadri it’s more their natural style so came easier, for Huberdeau he was more sheltered and pure offense in Florida.
He’s starting to show flashes that he’s figuring out how to play how Sutter wants and still use his creativity and generate offense without needing to cheat a little. Once he figures it out though I think he’s going to explode as a complete player.
You already saw him starting to use his size and body more effectively tonight.

Really? That’s disappointing considering the talent on the team. Guess their play will have to sell more seats.
Well if it ends up low many nights like last season I hope they at least keep up the trend of upgrading the upper seat buyers and season ticket holders to lower bowl so that it least looks full on TV.

Well, the take on Calgary is "can the additions equal or exceed the losses?" I think that the on-ice answer is yes. However, they lost a big part of the team's identity.
A quick start would help them while they discover the new identity. Early struggles I think will leave them on the outside looking in. It depends upon the coaching for the first 10-20 games, IMO.
Melding the players the way Coach Gallant did makes the Knights' first season all the more special.

3) Like everybody is mentioning the 4th line looks terrific, Ritchie looks like a completely different player. Showing some poise and although hes always had the ability to skate, looks a step quicker this year.
I was going to post the exact same thing. It looks like he’s slimmed down and using his reach and positioning more to his advantage, rather than running around hitting guys. Great to see.

I'm pretty convinced that the worst move Sutter the GM made was not coaching the team. This group really look like a team who know what they want to do and go after it.
