Oh lordy lordy did the score ever flatter the Knights. What a performance by the men in red. A blowout if not for Thompson standing on his head.

The Flames were very very dominant the second and third periods. Very very dominant. In all phases of the game. And Markstrom was fine after that point with just a couple actually good scoring chances against, whereas Thompson had to stand on his head for pretty much the whole game.

The maturity and focus of this Calgary Flames group has shown and shone in each of the first three games. Each game has been unique in the needs insofar as perseverance. The second period saw a new level of intensity and urgency from Huburdeau-Lindholm-Toffoli. Most teams, including most Flames teams over the years would not have been able to positively respond after the disallowed goal, yet this group took it to a whole new level that became the difference in the hockey game.

Speaking of difference in the hockey game, the fourth line was actually Calgary's best tonight. This is the best both Ritchie and Lucic have looked with the Calgary Flames.

This is the best Nikita Zadorov has looked in the National Hockey League. The blueline is ultra solid top-to-bottom.

And yet the Backlund trio wound up getting this game sealed away. I sensed Coleman-Backlund would do something when they both produced legit shorthanded opportunities earlier in the third period. The grittiness and hockey sense and simplicity of those two is something.

Also thought this was Mangiapane's best game. Was quite impressed by the Lombardias analysis of where his game needed to go in terms of improving the play of others, then he proceeded to do just that on multiple occasions over the course of the evening.

There are 79 more games, yet there is a compelling belief that several of the best players on the Calgary Flames are going to get considerably better and produce more meaningfully, especially against more average goaltending. And yet it is the maturity of the team that been so incredibly pervasive against three of the best teams in the conference.
YES!! great analysis!!

This might be the most I’ve loved all the players on a Flames team top to bottom since the 80s. Plus we get Loubardias back on TV? Hell yes.

The Flames won after down 2 goals, meanwhile Canucks lost after up 2 goals.

Happy, happy.

Balance across all four lines. Forth line gets a gold star. Completely confident in our D. Goal tending that battles back. Huh! This is good.

I cant believe how prepared the Flames look to start the season. Loved seeing Huberdeau handle the puck and his slick passes

Apparently, Darryl has agreed with the call being right, but was pissed off with the ref allowing Cassidy too much time (1.5 min) to make a challenge call. Said either do it right away or blow the whistle and drop the puck.

Watching the replays I think it was a good call. Kadri was down and sliding into the crease already when the VGK player bumped him.

Happy, happy.

Didn't the Canucks set an NHL record last game for being the only team in NHL history to lose the first three games of the season by blowing a multi goal lead. So they just extended that record to 4?

First game I've watched this year.

The fourth line was really good -- that's the best I've seen Ritchie play.

The balance across all the lines was great -- having 3 really good centres makes a difference. With that type of effort and the line combinations getting more chemistry, they will continue to dominate this year.

Huberdeau-Lindholm-Toffoli were 68% xGF at 5v5 and started to show signs IMO.

Didn’t agree with breaking them up late in the third but think that might have been more that rotation was off after the PKs.
