Labour costs are actually a bit higher than you might think - you have very brief windows of prime selling time (2 intermissions and ~30 mins pre-game, plus another 90 minutes of low-sales time), but you're paying staff for 4-5 hours.

Yep... totally agree.... it's a unique selling situation... but one sell (36.50) would cover 1 hour of staffing time I'd think... and how many multiple sales per order are there.... a family of four buying double for example. There are also more costs with staffing then the hourly rate, I get that too, which is why I'm not a fan of employer paid payroll taxes - they are hidden taxes that effect the cost of employment that the employee doesn't see on their pay stubs and therefore not refundable at tax time (and is why the government likes them).

Lol.... because we like to munch it as we watch the Oilers lose and the Flames win.... but I get your point... enough already.

I'm going tonight and taking my 24 year old kid. Do the ATMs have a mortgage option? Asking pre-concession.

Kyprios is on Tim & Friends and they were talking about how much the cap can go up.

He was whining about how so many teams are in a cap crunch and of course he had to use the poor Oilers as an example and how they had to play down one less player because of the cap. It's not the league's fault Holland doesn't know how to properly manage cap space.

I really don't understand why anyone feel bad about the cap and specifically the Oilers. They tried to move Puj***** and couldn't. So their answer to that was to sign him for twice as much as he made last year. It's gotta be one of the dumbest signings in the history of the Oilers and that's a long history. We want to trade you, but no one wants you so we'll pay you twice as much money as the year before and seriously #### ourselves in the process. Then complain about it. It's mind bottling.

May be they were thinking that if they pay him twice as much, other teams will think he is worth twice as much?

To be 100% fair, the grease were expecting to get cap savings from Keith retiring due to that weird CBA quirk

Doesn’t stop me from chiadenfreuding all the time about how continually no good they are

It is going to be worse next year too.

UFA deals coming off the books that aren't on LTIR:

Ryan - $1,250,000
Shore - $850,000
Murray - $750,000

League min is going up to $775,000 next year. Those 3 players save $475,000 on league min replacements.

RFAs:

Bouchard
Puljujarvi
Skinner
McLeod

$10.8 mil cap space and this does not include any bonus overages that I'm sure they already have and any new ones that they will have from this year. They might have less than $10 mil to sign those 4 players. Bouchard will get at least half of that. If Campbell doesn't turn it around and Skinner plays a bunch this year, they will have to trade guys to make space for just Skinner and Bouchard. They are mess this year and next, but McDavid is staying for sure because they are contenders.

That's pretty incredible. They do get 2.25M of dead cap for Lucic/Sekera off the books, but they are hilariously screwed
