How did I not know about this?
In Jesus Name, EAT SOME PEPPER SPRAY!

Haha yeah Im up here in Edmonton for school, and my friend called me last month and said on the radio they said Dog was gonna be at NAIT. I got on the computer and hit up Ticketmaster as soon as I heard, and already it was almost sold out. Im goin tomorrow, I cant wait!! I wanna start an over/under with my girlfriend on how many times he's gonna say "Bra" haha.
Only thing that sucks is, it starts at 7, which means I miss the 3rd period of game one tomorrow . But really, when the hell is Dog ever gonna be in Edmonton again, let alone Canada? I cant believe he's even coming! So Ill bite the bullet on this one. Should be a hilarious time, Ill post pics afterwards, hopefully of one with me and him in it.

What do you mean 'real cop'? He's a bail bondsmen. He loans people money so they can get out of jail and when they abscond he picks them up so he doesn't lose his ass.
Has nothing to do with law enforcement.
If a cop had $10000 of his own money on the line he might feel differently about it.

It seems to me that they portray him as some sort of law enforcement in the show and the Ads for it
Regardless the guy is a tool and his show is awful IMO

Most of the time, he's not the actual bailbondsman. He's the bounty hunter other bondsmen hire. His whole family dress up in law enforcement type gear and act like they have some real authority when they are really just bounty hunters who act more like vigilantes.
The majority of time, it's not his money at all on the line. Did Andrew Luster owe him money? Or did Dog just go down to Mexico (with a whole TV crew) to nab him because he thought he could do it to make good TV?

He doesn't enforce any laws he bails people out of jail and when they bolt on the bail he aprehends them. Which is why he usually doesn't have a problem with bailing them out again after they screw him. Think of him kind of like Money Mart but with a can of mace.

I second that. What a friggen degrading show but I guess if you like Jerry Springer and have a trailer park mentality, it's cool. No, that's not fair to Ricky and Bubbles and Julius. The trailer park would be a huge upgrade for Dog.

You're a tool brah! I spoke to a Honolulu P.D. officer about him and they say he's a great man and does alot of great things for people there. He did say he pulled him over once for speeding though.
Also I don't think you really understand the concept of bail, and bail jumpers.. He's different no doubt about it but a tool? Come on now.

The bail bonds system in the states is a huge part of the law enforcement/legal system in the states. And the bounty hunter is a big part of that bail bonds system. They are repo men for people instead of cars/boats/trucks etc.
Anybody who picks up a criminal who is skipping out on bail and thus taxing the system, probably participating in further cirmes and does it with the full support of the law (which Dog has) is just fine by me.
He picked up Andrew Luster because 1) there was a bounty and reward on him. Dog is a bounty hunter. It is how he makes his living and a big reward is a big pay day, and 2) Andrew Luster needed to be taken off the streets. A guy convicted of 86 rapes doesn't just lose the urge to rape again just because he is on the run. That's what he did...drug women, rape them and videotape himself doing it. When he was aprehended he had GHB in his hotel room. But I'm sure he wasn't going to use that for anything but his own personal use.

There are plenty of "real cops" who wish they were Dog.

It's frankly international vigilantism and spotlight seeking to goto another country, completely outside the jurisdiction of even any rightful authorities...bringing your own TV crew into another country to bounty hunt for a fugitive that he didn't have a personal stake in just for the money (and the media coverage). Sure the American people love him and morally, he did a good thing...but man, that's just reckless, absurd, and insulting the rightful authorities. Life isn't a TV show. The good guys just don't hunt down the bad guys all over the world as they like because the storyline is good.

Ironically, everytime I see Dog and his family, I get the awful feeling they really really want to be real cops instead of playing dress-up. It's like those security guards who impersonate police officers. Dwight Shrute's ultimate fantasy.

Why didn't the rightful authorities arrest that monster then?

Indeed, the mexican authorities were more than happy to let him live it up under his assumed name in Puerto Vallarta.
I don't care who Dog brought along or even if it was someone else who picked the guy up. The guy needed to be taken off the streets and the mexican authorities sure as heck weren't going to do it. Insulting to rightful authorities was written by the one poster...it's pretty evident that the mexican authorities are pretty much insulting to any other law enforcement authority in the modern world. Corrupt doesn't even begin to explain it.

I see how you could be confused as the show is called Dog: The Bounty Hunter.
