Might be time to move back from the red tees

I played the black tees a couple of weeks ago and that was a totally different ball game, threw me off. My buddy suggested it's where I should be, and maybe that's true (15.3 handicap)?
Typically play blues though.

15 handicap should be playing from the 2nd or 3rd tees, definitely not the tips. Nothing wrong with trying it once in a while though!

I find that score hard to believe especially with the binge drinking, how are you getting home from the course, especially a rural one like that. Most just drive themselves to and from the course.

Attaboy jayswin! Nothing better than shooting a career best! There must be something in the air. I had a five birdie 69 yesterday, albeit playing from 6,000 yards with friends who wanted to play up. Played it irons only and was just stripping the ball. The birdy juice was flowing so bad that we spent a couple hours after golf having some food and non-alcoholic beverages to sober up. Was a fun time that has made me think about putting a driving iron back in my bag.

I played Banff Springs from the tips. It's plenty long from back there!! Especially #7 that was playing over 600 yards. Don't think I'd do it every day, but it was fun from back there. Had to hit a fairway metal on two of the par 3's lol.

Hahahahaha, that's awesome. My buddy who doesn't drink drove me to the course and home after, as is the case for 10-15 rounds a year. "edit" is a police officer on CP, I can give you his number if you'd like to get this going. Like seriously.
AC sent me screenshots of a PM of legal threats you made against him because he posted too many gifs after Flames games.

Edit: you were basically banned last time for harassing a few posters, I was the one who suggested you stay because you seem to like it here and make good posts. This is definitely the last warning though.

On a lighter note....nice work! I can't imagine getting that good, but still that sounds like a hell of a round!
Each year I just find new things to work on and hope for the best. I know I can't get anywhere in a golf career, so I really try to balance getting better with actually having fun with friends on the course. I know I could get better faster by spending beautiful, fleeting Calgary summer days hitting balls for hours on a range......and I simply won't do that in my mid thirties.
I'll practice here and there and work on deficiencies, but mostly I'll just book rounds, grab beers and spend afternoons having fun with friends and getting slightly better each month, lol.

I don't think it's a matter of being "good" but minimizing mistakes and managing your game and the course. I'm like you and rarely practice, much to the detriment of the game, especially the short game. I usually hit my irons pretty straight, so I leave myself in good positions to make shots. On days where you're hitting them pure, like this past weekend, it's a lot of fairways and greens and grinding it out. "Good" is having command over all your clubs, and I rarely have that. I envy people that do.

I golfed today (Sunday)at dancing bull (serenity). What a perfect day to golf - shorts and a golf shirt in mid-October.
Despite them being about 25m late due to frost, once we teed off the pace was great.
Finished poorly though and would not mind a round next weekend, but who knows if they will be open and if I will have the time

Had a pretty upsetting moment on the golf course yesterday. My son was playing in a tournament and the kid he was playing with flared his 3 wood right. It hit a tree and we saw something fall out. We walk up there and realize he had knocked a kitten out of the tree. It was mostly unconscious when we got up there, and then it started coming to and immediately fell over again. We called the pro shop to come see if they could help, but don't know what happened after. I can't imagine the odds of hitting a cat in a tree, but it was tough to watch that's for sure!

I thought you were going to say someone hit a kid, so I guess a kitten is preferable to that.
I nearly got smoked by someone's shanked drive right in the head yesterday. It was through some trees from the next hole over so I had no idea it was coming and the fore call was way too late for me to react. The thing whistled maybe 2 feet left of my face and even though it was on a bounce it still would have been a hospital visit for sure. Two holes later, a ball flew right in between my cart and another cart and landed about 10 yards away, no warning at all. Not cool.

Yeah, people have to get in the habit of just going all-in with the "fore" yells. I'm a big hitter who is often wildly off target, and part of my golf game is just letting er rip and yelling super loudly "FOORRRREEE" after every third tee shot. Getting used to yelling it has saved a few people I couldn't see from getting smoked.
So many people seem shy or embarrassed to yell it. Just yell it! It's part of the game.
