Just when you think Darryl’s going to be forever stubborn with the goaltending situation he throws a curve ball. It’s the right call here as when something isn’t working you need to make a change. Markstrom my not be 100% but I feel this is a calculated move by Darryl.

So Vladar guaranteed 26 starts. That's a nice lessening of Markys workload. Really well thought out IMO. 56 starts should be a real sweet spot.

Woof put me in the not a fan of not starting Markstrom camp. Rip that bandaid off ASAP and let him face his demons. Provided he’s not injured, etc.

Starting Vladar tonight is the safest thing to do, both short and long term. Markstrom needs to see more rubber before he gets back in there against the Oilers.

I think Markstrom would most likely ve fine tonight and I would have liked to see him play, but I also like the commitment to getting Vladar more starts this year.

That’s incorrect. You can’t just add up the Oilers ages, McDavid 25 and Drai 26 and divide by 23. If they had other players and a full roster their average age would rise significantly above 2.217.

If there's any team he should be "scared" of it's the Jets. 5-14-2 with a 3.27 GAA and .890 SV%.

Imagine not being well, then playing a whole hockey game against one of the best teams in the league.
He definitely needs a break and frankly, Vlad earned a start with his preseason play and being more dialed in.
I have zero issues with this unless we lose. Then Vlad sucks and Daryl is dumb.
