"Backlund the Only Milestone"
How did you miss that Sutter coached in his 700th win for 10th all time?

I'm an idiot.
Was focused on players, and the angle that there is only one guy left with any tenure.

Knowing Darryl he probably walked into the locker room, grunted a "Good game. Bad 3rd." then walked out before anyone could congratulate him

Hey, can you or someone help me to understand how the Flames ended up with only 38% of shot attempts in Period #2? Thar sure does not align with what I saw.

You are many things, this is not one of them.
Happy to Game Takes are back for another year.
The game was fun to watch, even though I feel the Avs were pretty tired and didn't put their best foot forward. Not sure if it's my own personal bias, but Lucic stood out for me in a good way. As did Dube.
My God, are the digital board adverts annoying. So annoying I missed part of the game trying to find a stream that didn't have them, which I was able to do.

Thanks, I was getting sick of seeing Oilers win series 4-1 on that front page for months.

Dube and Weegar really stood out for me. And some of the energy guys as well.
Huberdeau is a very different player than Gaudreau. I'm not going to lie, it was odd watching the Flames without seeing 13 darting around out there. It will take a few games for me to get used to that.
But first reaction is that the team is playing the same Sutter style but definitely going to be less reliant on one line to get things done.

I think we will see close to as many wins. Maybe less blowouts. But also more solid play overall. Less likely to crumble.
People commented on the top line needing a carrier. There's no one as adept at stickhandling as Gaudreau there. But Huberdeau and Lindholm can skate with the puck. Toffoli not so much. If Mangiapane switched lines it might work just a little better, and I think Toffoli would do fine on the second line.

Kadri really stood out for me. He was driving that line like a first line center and was on top of MacKinnonevery chance he had. He seemed to have the toughest assignment last night and pulled through. His skating is more explosive than I remembered.

Dube needs to avoid the tunnel of death or he’ll have another concussion before long.

This team just feels more grown up with Tkachuk and Gaudreau gone. I really didn't see either of them as leaders on or off the ice. Whereas Huberdeau, Kadri, and Weegar seem to be much more mature, leader-types. I trust those guys to not pull disappearing acts in big games - maybe I'm wrong, but it feels like there is more steady, dependable leadership now.

Thought Kadri showed a lot of hustle and talent.
