Thoughts:
- it's super cool to see the Flames win a season opener against the Champs
- I don't think it could have gone better for the "new guns". Kadri with 1 pt while battling against the best centre in the league, Huberdeau with 1 pt off a beautiful assist, and Weegar with just a brilliant multi-point debut
- Dube was all over it tonight. I loved the hit he put on Mackinnon (even if he took the worst of it)
- Andersson was freaking fantastic tonight, as was his partner. Numerous times tonight I saw Hanifin win important battles on the boards and make some really smart plays. They didn't do well on that first goal against - but after that? They crushed it, and no one is perfect.
- Zadarov is making his mark.

About the pantaloons.
Thee Jeannie Becker (of FTV fame) was available and Sportsnet loved her credentials. Hired her on the spot as the new lead costume designer on the New Look Set. In addition it was her ideas to tell Faisal his jacket fit perfect but the rage is to go 2 sizes too small on the belly to really test that jacket button.
Great Start for the Boys. For game One that was a really cohesive squad. I for one am not getting my hopes up, but do you think the parade will come all the way down to 8th street SW? I can just watch it from my balacony

Great start and 2 less points to worry about later.
Thought I’d mention how old I’ll be when flames win next silver shiny thingie and it’s my age now.

Huberdeau reminds me of Tanguay but much, much better. Similar play making and big time puck poise.

Can someone explain why Calgary plays Colorado this year as much as Edmonton? Isn’t there a way to make schedules so you get four games against every divisional rival? Doesn’t feel like that hard to do that and still get 2 games against everyone else.
