Loved the look of the PP. Huberdeau is amazing there with those little passes. Even in the first PP goal, he didn't get an assist, but he opened up a lot of space with a pass right before the goal.

Looks like a deep, solid team we've got here.

Remains to be seen if they've got the game-breakers and the chemistry, but they definitely look like they've got all they need to compete against any team in the league.

Next game will be a real good test of where they're at in terms of their defensive game.

Knocking over the defending champs - now that’s the way to start the season! The only thing that would make this better would be Zamler bringing Yanet out of retirement…

Go Flames Go!

As much as i loved Monny, keeping Looch was definitely the right choice.

Yeah baby! That’s what I’m talking about. Thrills, chills, spills and a big W. Dube had a great game. Loved all the new guys. Weegar has some jam, as did Kadri and Hubs. Really fun win.

That was refreshing. Good game by the Flames. Very opportunistic. Dube and Weegar stood out for the Flames and Rodriguez stood out for the Avs. On to Edmonton and playing the Powerplay Kings.

Well that was a lot of fun! I forgot what it was like starting the season with a win. We looked good tonight. We dictated play for most of that game and there was just so much good to take away from it. Granted the Avs were tired, but we didn't look like the underdog in this one.

There were a lot of noticable Flames for me tonight, but both Dube and Zadorov really exceeded my expectations tonight. The new guys bring low key skill and compete, and it just made the game so much more fun. Rolling lines, dictating our game, and generating chances using good transition from D to offense.

Now do it again, against EDM.

PS: I hope to see Gaskal here soon!
