Nothing like an owner who threatens to move the team to get public funding to build an arena, then gouges the crap out of the fans who literally paid for the building and on top of it nickels and dimes them on a special fan channel for 9 bucks a month.
If I was an Oiler fan I wouldn't spend dime one on that team.

That same deal in Calgary would be about $22-$24 (give or take, been a while since I bought popcorn), which is still absurd but it's not $36.50.

I mean it's all probably run by Sodexho/Aramark- and they paid the Oilers/league for the rights to sell concessions, and they get to set the prices.
One benefit of the Dome being so old, is that the contract and costs are already paid out, so they (the vendor) can make their margin without having to go up. I expect if/when a new stadium is built, prices will be similar here.
I'll take off my Product Manager hat now...
