So this discussion with Ryan Jespersen this morning:

You, Calgary and Edmonton, will be subservient to the demands and politics of rural Alberta.

That's her interview in a nutshell.

83% of Albertans live in urban areas, so that makes sense.

of rural and suburban Alberta. lets not pretend that the suburbs and small cities are not a UCP slam dunk.

Is this online anywhere? Thanks in advance.

I am a lifelong conservative voter. Danielle Smith is rock bottom for me. I know of many others who feel the same as I do. I have predicted it before in this thread .... NDP win coming up in May.

Maybe her plan is to rile up the rural folk with even more propaganda to election day, follow the Trump playbook, hope for a Jan 6th in Edmonton...refuse to concede, etc etc. B***h loses at everything she tries and needs to go away.

Folks can try and blame rural Alberta all they like, but they are only a fraction of the legislative seats. Danielle Smith will get power through the city of Calgary.

I haven't listened to ensure this was the one in question, but this episode was uploaded today with Smith as a guest. I imagine it's what you're looking for:

Also, that science is ever changing, so just wait until it aligns with what you want it to, then lock that in forever or until you disagree with it and change it then

Meh, she's just expressing her First Amendment rights to speak any way she wants to.

The science is always changing = I will continue to solicit scientific opinions until I hear something that fits my libertarian ideology.

Maybe but I doubt it. If that was the case she would be running in Calgary and not Brooks/Hat. I figure she looses all of Edmonton/area and most of YYC.

Hopefully she is just crazy enough to be unelectable.

Going into this election with the same mentality the UCP leadership candidates had isn’t very comforting.

Calgary Voters are No Good.

If she wins any riding in Calgary we should go burn down that riding! Including mine! Flames unite!

The math's pretty staggering though. She only needs 7 Calgary seats to win essentially. It wasn't even doable for Notley in 2015 when 8 seats went PC when there was vote splitting. Danielle Smith has to push like 10-15% of Calgary UCP voters into the arms of the NDP in Calgary for it to be doable to limit the UCP to less than 7 seats. Possible yes, however it might be tough in a high oil price environment and recovering economy to get that many people to switch over.

I also don't think it is a given she sweeps rural Alberta and the rest of urban Alberta. Calgary....well if the voting public here are ok with bat #### crazy cuz they are making a few bucks then good on them. Anyone I talked to in YYC during the whole "convoy thing" was pretty disgusted. Pretty sure that is what Smith is going to bring to the table...divisive "convoy" politics backed by a lie staying just ahead of another lie, repeat.

I think there is enoguh time before the next election for Smith to make some colossal mistakes. And not just her. She's going to fill her cabinet with people ...imagine this...that have even poorer judgment than the ones in charge for the past 3 years. These buffoons will make some boneheaded statements and moves, and Smith will either have to defend them or cut them lose. Considering her carefully crafted free speech no idea is too stupid persona, doubling down is going to be her go-to move. I would hope enough lake of fire incidents will move the needle, but who knows in this province.
