That's their practice facility and offices. Games are played at the Saddledome.

They're playing their games at the Saddledome, but training and practices will be at Winsport.
The Hitmen will be doing the same at 7 Chiefs, including playing a handful of games.

The Sens should pick up Valimaki. Prob their 1st choice but Stone wanted to goto Vegas for the better locker room.

If Valimaki gets claimed, the Flames will get $1.55M of cap relief
If he does not get claimed, and is sent to the Wranglers, they will get $1.125M of cap relief - more accurately, $425K will of his salary will still count against the cap.
Thought they might give Zohorna a longer look than that. I still think Pelletier is on the team at some point this year.

Wonder if that wasn't a "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" favour....for whatever reason.

Not sure why they’d claim him after they put him on waivers. He obviously wasn’t making the team and they’d have to put him on waivers again to send him down.

i believe, if Pitt is the only team that puts in a claim, he can be sent down without clearing waivers again
This happened ~half-dozen times last season; team loses player on waivers; team re-claims player when new team waives him again

If I recall correctly a trade or two were nixed because Valimaki was part of the price.
Including for Mark Stone.

Zahirna didn't even have time to settle in before his flight back to Pittsburgh.

The report was that the Sens wanted Valimaki as part of the package for Mark Stone and Calgary was refusing to include him.
When put into the larger context that Stone was not prepared to immediately sign an extension with the Flames but was only going to do so for Vegas, it made sense why the Flames didn't want to include him.

If only we could forge an alliance with Burke, we are not directly competing with the Pens and the two teams could get creative with different moves - but the NHL would probably clamp down on such racketeering.

I would think they will need to make another move, to become cap compliant.
However the exact room is unclear, assuming they sign Michael Stone

even after assigning (or losing) all 3, they will still have 25 players on the roster. So they need to move 2 more (Pettersen and Pospisil), or 3 more (add Mackey or Meloche), if they want to sign Stone.
Either way, they will be under the cap, including Kylington.

I believe Pettersen and Pospisil are hurt, best guess they are placed on IR

Cap situation:
Current: $86,040,833
Waivers:
Valimaki: $1,125,000
Gilbert..: $762,500
Zohorna: $750,000
Cap (25 man): $83,403,333
Pettersen: $903,333
Pospisil...: $750,000
Cap (23 man): $81,750,000
Space...........: $750,000
If they moved out Meloche ($950K) or Mackey ($912.5K) and added Stone ($750k), it would give them another $160-200k
