Unfortunately it is going to need another hit. I just read 1 lane is still useable and they will be opening that up soon. Rail bridge not too bad either and may only need minor repairs. Episode 2 still ahead.
Putin is just looking for someone to blame. He'll run out of scapegoats to purge eventually, or maybe they will purge him if we are lucky. In any case, the Russians war effort is going to collapse even further. On top of Kerch bridge cutting off what limited supplies the Russians were sending to their front line troops, Russia just appointed an Air Force General Sergei Surovikin to lead GROUND WAR in Ukraine. Aside from the guy not having experience leading ground combat operations, Russia's air force still doesn't have air superiority... so guy's totally had a record of success.
Quote:
Russia's Defence Ministry on Saturday named Air Force General Sergei Surovikin as the overall commander of Russian forces fighting in Ukraine, Moscow's third senior military appointment in the space of a week.
The change follows the reported sacking earlier this week of the commanders of two of Russia's five military regions, as its forces have suffered a series of dramatic reverses in northeastern and southern Ukraine in recent weeks.
All this is awesome for the Ukrainian morale, however, I would lay off the memes if I were the Ukrainian government and military. Mocking and humiliating a man who has his finger on the button of worldwide Armageddon could really bite you in the ass.
Putting myself in Putin's position, if I somehow became an insane dictator with nothing to lose, backed into a corner likely facing public execution should my war fail..... I'd be sending a few hundred megatons of firey glowey retaliation their way and see who's the real laughing stock.

Once this is all over I think they should force Russia to surrender their nukes before they let them back in to the international economy, you don't get to threaten the world with them and be part of it.

But I am told that having the mutually assured destruction option on the table is a good thing.
Personally, I think everyone should get one. For them to be of any real use, you would need a lot of other countries backing you up as well. Rogue nations like Russia would have no power if the majority of the world opposed them.
