9 years is a LONG time for any player to spend with one franchise. If either Weegar or Huberdeau Ironman their time with the Flames - in addition to a top-10 NHL Ironman streak - they’d end up #6 on the Flames all-time games-played list.
An average of 70.4 gp over their contracts would be needed to break the top-10, while 67 games played for 9 years would surpass Gaudreau’s 602.
Nobody will ever be able to convince that it’s normal to shoot left in hockey and right in golf.
All of hockey, golf, and baseball (swinging, not throwing) should be the same. To go back and forth between these sports is goofy.
As a young lad I started golfing left because I borrowed my dads clubs, in my late teens I golfed right but found I could hit it farther from the left side so I switched back except for the putter. In the end I think I scored about the same unless it was a monster course.
Honestly I don't think I ever tried a right handed hockey stick on ice but I probably could have managed.
I guess instead of calling me confused just call me goofy
Put me as another one that shoots left in hockey, but swings right in golf and baseball.
I would love to see more data collected on the subject, but it seems to me that the U.S. produces more right handed shots in hockey as a ratio to the total number of players.
To me, even though my right hand is more powerful, it is clunky and can't maneuver with dexterity like my left hand. That makes puck handling and precision shooting easier with my left. In golf and baseball, power seems to be more important, hence why swinging right seems to work better.

Back when I was a kid right handed kids all shot right. At some point it all changed. Maybe after we quit using bicycles with oversized front wheels and chasing hoops with sticks.
Yeah I swear I was ambidextrous as a kid. I just chose left with hockey (which naturally transferred to golf) cuz my dad shot left so it could save him money by just chopping down one of his old sticks for me instead of buying me a new one. Eventually I lost the ability to shoot right by never doing it.
I remember later choosing right in tennis/badminton simply because I was kinda sick of being lefty with everything else with sports. Eventually lost the ability to hit left as well, but I still tend to default to that instead of doing a backhand when the ball is going to my left. Weird how that stuff works..
I was naturally left handed, but forced into writing right-handed as a kid, so I shoot left in hockey but can switch if I get handed a different handed stick, and have a good backhand. I also shoot right in golf

I am right handed and shot right.
When I was a kid I tried both but came to the conclusion that I shot harder right but handled better with a left.
Its a preference thing but I think in general right handed people are more comfortable with a left shot stick and lefties with a right.

My son is right handed but when he played hockey he shot left.
Myself I am right handed and shot right.
Could’ve those that are strong both hands might stick to the direction when they began the sport and were initially coached. My son’s coaches had him shoot left from mid season first Timbits
I'm right handed.
Hockey - Shoot right
Baseball - I can swing left or right equally
Golf - Swing left or right but I am better right
Soccer - Kick right
Throw right
Great contract and seeing some stats on who does what with sporting equipment.
Always thought it was odd that I shot left in hockey, right in golf. But seems like there are many of us RHers that do the same.
I can golf both ways in form, but can't make as good of contact left handed. Looks good until a ball gets in the way.

I’m a righty both shooting pucks and hitting golf balls, throw right handed, kick right footed, right handed writer. Lol even my right side is dominant in drumming though I’ve caught my left side up quite well over the years, and both sides have their strengths and weaknesses around the kit.
It's odd to me that a lot of RHers play hockey left but golf/baseball right (though likely forced into golf that way).
Baseball/golf I feel like my stronger right arm is doing more work 'pulling' when swinging left. In hockey, the left arm seems to do a lot more work in nearly every movement (when shooting left). For me, it feels like it would be more natural to swing left and hockey right if there is going to be any variation
