Maybe it's time to dump his ass now instead of at the end of the season.

I mean he gave us that epic moment at the season finale last year but man was he ever in over his head.

This interview with the Pirelli guy makes watching FP2 worth it all on its own. Fascinating insight and explanations of tires and plans for next year and beyond. It goes on for like 15-20 mins too. They talk about everything.

I’m usually the first one to mock Latifi but I think there’s a good chance he felt something or heard something and pulled onto the escape lane just in case.

He played it off that way and a few people have speculated that maybe there was an issue but the fact he was in heavy spray from the car in front and doesn’t have a lot of experience at Suzuka point to him misjudging the escape road for the actual corner. Plus he didn’t even stop, he immediately turned around and kept going. The on-boards don’t appear to show any issues.

Honestly it’s embarrassing but I don’t blame him all that much. Visibility was poor and it’s a new track for him. But it is funny.
