I'm as dominant right handed as you can be...I really struggle playing on the left side of the ice. But a lot of the left handed shooting guys who were right handed told me the opposite...they'd rather be on the right side as left handed shots.
I’m left handed and shoot right. If I’m skating backwards I’m much more comfortable rotating to the right to start skating forwards. I’m more comfortable on the left side of the ice.

Interesting little bit of information.

Only about 5% of golfers shoot left.

In Canada about 20% of golfers shoot left.

Weegar was the guy I wanted the Flames to trade for after Brodie left as a free agent. It took a couple of years to get him here, but glad we did.

And no offense to Brodie who is still a good defenseman and was underrated around the league for years, but him on a $5 million cap hit makes the Weegar deal look that much better.

Doesn’t this make it easier to buy out though?

Because if you’re on your off wing, Lh shot playing on the right side, you’ll be shooting from the inside vs a RH shot playing the right side where the puck would be further away and on the outside. The bigger issue though with playing your off wing, especially for a Dman is receiving the pass because you have to switch your stick or position yourself and that split second actually makes a difference.

It does I think but these retirement contracts seemingly never get bought out. They end up LTIRd and traded. So if you have contract at 8 years 50 mil but it’s structured say 8,8,8,8,6,4,4,4 as salary then it’s easier to move when the time comes since you’re moving only 2/3rds of the real dollars if you move them late in the contract as compared to if it’s a flat 6.25 annually.

I mean ideally he’s awesome the whole time and then all that really mattered was he got to buy his mega yacht in year 3 rather than year 5 so not much of a change there.

Which part of this situation makes you think the player has any interest in being traded? The NMC and NTC conditions throughout the entire contract seem like a pretty pointed clue that the player did not enjoy his most recent experience being traded away by his team.

This is interesting, a friend of mine, she writes with her right hand, holds her chopstick with her right hand, when eat something require knife and fork, she hold her knife with her right hand like the rest of us. But when we are out playing badminton, she holds her racquet with her left hand, bowl with her left hand.

Back when I was a kid right handed kids all shot right. At some point it all changed. Maybe after we quit using bicycles with oversized front wheels and chasing hoops with sticks.
