Has anyone ever managed to be signed to a PTO, make the team, then play many years afterwards? Or is it pretty much always their last season?

Kris Versteeg played for 2 years with us, and if it wasn't for injuries I believe he'd have played one more season with us.

Hoffman the only one that comes immediately to mind. Turned a PTO into a 4 mil 1 year deal, then the next summer signed 3 years at 4.5mil

Although to be fair I think that "PTO" was more of a 'wink wink, we'll sign you when we clear some LTIR'

I think Dan Cleary was on a PTO with Detroit and went on to play 5 or more years for them.

Had no idea that Calgary led the pack in PTOs. If we were Edmonton we'd be hoisting a banner for that.
