Doubt it. Would love to see it but none of them have any backbone.

She’ll be winning a seat somewhere though. Someone will resign in a super safe seat.

I would think so, but the UCP hasn’t exactly been full of a lot of pragmatists.

Would be nice if the moderate MLAs sat independent until the next election and prevented anything out of Smith's sea barnacle brain to pass in the Leg.
But of course, they'll comply like the good cowards they are.

Provincial election should be required if the party wants to change the leader. They can change their minds, why can't the voting public change theirs?

You do realize that UCP members who voted are Alberta voters. Brilliant logic that these votes are meaningless because it’s a “private party.”

Seems like a fundamental tenet of modern conservatism is to not have any honour that would compel them to do anything like that.

Does she even bother or will she govern from outside the house and never have to face question period under the guise of fiscal responsibility.

Don't look at me, I didn't vote for either of these dumpster fires.

You have to be a paying member to vote for a leader that I guarantee even a majority of UCP supporters wouldn’t vote for, so yeah I would say it’s pretty meaningless.

I still disagree that this was the likely outcome. I mean if you said we would have gotten Fords tenure in Ontario which is fairly problematic but there is some level of competency then I think what you are saying is right. But this Kenny then Smith is to the crappy side of the bell curve.

What's a summary of her platform? Reading through the comments in the last few pages, I've got:
- pro Hydroxychloroquine
- pro separate from Canada

Well the Westminster system, if you want an answer.
I know what you’re saying, but parties change leaders for all kinds of reasons. In a one-party state like Alberta, it happens that the leadership race is one where you get to vote directly for the premier as well (if you paid $10).

85,000 people are voting for our new Premier of a province of 4.5 million.
1.8% of the province. Cool.

Sure...but we could dial things back 50% and it still would have been an atrocious term.

I read 3.5% of eligible voters but ya, either way -- sucks. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
