Best of luck to them both. Neither clearly cemented their position on the team, and between their performance and the waiver claim, this is fully expected

No surprise on Milano. Done in the NHL at 26. Eakin I’m pleasantly surprised with, I was very worried we were going to waste a contract, and he would just be a barrier to someone like Phillips or Pelletier being an injury call up.

Hard to disagree. I had some hope for Milano but he didn't even really show a glimpse of being additive to the roster.

Based on what they showed, not a big surprise. Our team is deep enough without adding either of these guys on a contract with the big club. I was hoping Milano would be a steal-type player though. I wish them both the best.

not too surprising. Was hoping for more from Milano in particular, but they were given a good shot and it didn't work out. All the best to both of them.

No surprises.
Milano's game was never going to be in Coach Sutter's good graces. Eakin was simply more of what the team already has in abundance.

Not really surprising after they brought in Zohorna as he and Eakins were probably competing for the same spot.

And what to make of the new giant winger?
His metrics were good last night, but man I barely noticed him.

The surprise was Milano even got a PTO invite
Was worried that Sutter would fall in love with Eakins

Good thing I put off getting the #15 Milano jersey.

For some reason there was a few fans on CP in the summer asking not just for a PTO for Milano but an actual contract.

Milano will end up back on the west coast for minimum dollars.

No disagreements here. If we didn't have Lucic/Rooney/Lewis already I'd have been okay with bringing Eakin on board but he's redundant. I don't think Milano was even close.

First day/game with a new team and in a new system.
And maybe not noticing him in that environment is just as good?

Thank God we aren't going to have to worry about Eakins / Eakin all season long lol

Glad the PTOs were released. Nothing specifically against them, but they won't move the needle on the team and we have better internal options coming.
Time to get down to business. Get systems in place and get some practice time in so that they're ready for game 1. I do not want to see them lose another season opener.
