Hopefully Backlund is fine and this was a mild bruise or something, as I assume that Coleman would also be getting pulled if it was a rest day for that pair. Maybe I am reading too much into it.
No need to worry about it. Sutter mentioned in his pre-game that he is being extra careful with the older guys in terms of number of games played and mentioned Backlund and Lewis specifically as being held out tonight for this reason.
Yeah it seems that way and probably all that's left is for Zohorna to show that he's capable of playing there. Based on Sutter's pre-game he says he knows nothing of the player except for some videos from Treliving when he was thinking of picking him up. So my take is if it works out, they'd like to slot Rooney at 4C but if Zohorna shows he isn't a fit, they'll probably go back to Rooney on that 3rd line.

Finally get to see Weegar-Tanev that could be a great pair, allowing Weegar to be free to be more aggressive offensively.
IMO the key to the Flames being a contender is this pairing. They need to be that top pairing that can play 25+ mins a night in the playoffs and can match up against anyone and also provide offense when a goal is needed.
If Rooney goes to the Royal Bank line, will Ruzicka centers the forth line?
Most likely it will be either Ruzicka or Eakin depending on the coach's preference. Also, Lewis played 4th line C last year, though briefly, so he could be an option.
With such disappointing PTOs and a lack of movement on the trade market, I'm really curious to see what Zohorna brings to the lineup. Have a feeling Sutter will have him motivated. Maybe a little banging and crashing but the guy has some speed and skill, too.
