Milano has received the puck in advanced positions a lot but hasn't made anything happen with it.

Milano reminds me of Czarnik - can be the third best player on an offensive line and not look too out of place and make some plays with the puck but on the 4th line he’s going to look bad/invisible.

This game has been very physical for a preseason game with mostly NHL rosters

I love Chris Tanev.

What a beast this guy is.

Cut Milano, sign Stone.

Sign Eakin maybe? He's been fine, just redundant on our 4th line. I'd rather see Zohorna or Ruzicka get a look on the 3rd line than have 4 4th liners... but if Eakin will sign to watch most of the games alongside Ritchie, that's fine.

I think Ruzicka has done enough to stick around, but just barely. Still not sure he makes the opening night roster.

Milano will be released from his PTO shortly. He's struggling to play at pace and make plays. Not terrible, just not good enough.

Eakin has been okay. Made some nice plays on pucks and defensively sound, and has shown good hustle. Nothing fancy. I'm still not sure he gets a contract, but I wouldn't be shocked either.

Stone will absolutely be signed, both for the fact that Kylington won't be back anytime soon, but also because he can blast the puck! A little behind the play defensively at times, but still solid.

Man, Tanev looks fantastic. His hands were a lot better than I usually think of for him.

Kadri has been a star out there. He's entertaining to watch. His pass to Mang was a thing of beauty.

Lucic has been really good tonight in my opinion too.

Stone is kind of forcing himself onto the team. He has a cannon.

Flames look really good. Markstrom has bailed them out a bit, but if you add the Lindholm line to this game it's a laugher.

If you have 14 forwards ...

Huberdeau, Lindholm, Mangiapane, Kadri, Dube, Toffoli, Coleman, Backlund, Rooney, Lucic, Zohorna, Lewis, Ruzicka, Ritchie

That's 14. I would much rather not risk waiving Ruzicka than sign Eakin largely to provide the same things as Lewis et al.

No one knows; Tre asked the media to leave it alone.

I like Rooney and I think he is good enough to be a 3rd liner on an NHL team but as a cup contender I want a better player on that line, and Rooney on the 4th line. But maybe he will prove me wrong, so we will see

Ruzicka has looked more engaged. Maybe he's better suited in a bottom line role with pluggers.

Good call, I didn't bother counting with the Zohorna add.

That's what I think (and want) as well.

In a vacuum, I probably take Eakin over Ruzicka, but considering they have Rooney, Ritchie, Lewis and Zohorna, Eakin seems redundant. N point risking losing Ruzicka, just to have Eakin eating popcorn

Yeah we haven’t seen Zohorna yet but I don’t see how Eakin has a job if they think highly of Zohorna.

Not worth potentially losing Ruzicka to sign Eakin. Unless Eakin is willing to be waived and play in Calgary in the AHL for extra depth then he probably doesn’t get a contract.
