Anyone who say's gridlock on Deerfoot in the south is bad, clearly hasn't driven Deerfoot anywhere north of 32nd Ave. What a colossal cluster ####.

So true. I think the "south traffic sucks" reputation is about 20 years old and has never been updated. Deerfoot by Glenmore and just south at the Anderson/Bow Bottom exits do still back up. No doubt. Those congestion spots are next up on Deerfoot upgrades though. Stony in the south and even MacLeod south of Anderson have made south traveling really smooth.
I'm a southerner so definitely biased. Not on anyone's list, and maybe not perfect given the constraints in the OP, but Diamond Cove is the answer. It's like Airdrie in that you can get anywhere in 15-20 minutes. Except, it's actually true.

Or Garrison Green, which is where we are.
Lakeview, Garrison Green, Garrison Woods, all relatively close to each other. Garrison Woods is more walkable; Garrison Green has better access than Lakeview and you get a reasonable discount over Garrison Woods for the lesser walkability and being on the west side of Crowchild Trail.

If you go to bed at night with the river on the south side of your house, I'm not sure how you can even sleep.

Speaking of all this quadrant talk, it still kinda blows my mind that COP is in the SW.

Well, Temple to Bonavista must have been a dramatic shift in tone.

I lived in Calgary my whole life and I did not know this place existed until I moved to Lake Bonavista and someone on my kids hockey team said they lived there. I was like "where?." I took a drive in there and was reminded of the 1990's. Weird siding and Roof shingles everywhere. I like that they have essentially built a wall to keep out the Queensland riff raff.

Haha, pretty accurate assessment from most I mention it to. I think we've run across one cab driver over the years who knew where it was.

Lol! I used to coach soccer practices at some fields in Diamond Cove and yes, it is like some weird enclave from the 1990s.
Reminded me of that movie 'Pleasantville.'

Diamond Cove I had a buddy that lived there, really felt like he lived in the median of the Bow Bottom Trail

Depends of how everyone here defines each quadrant. If you go by the real definition of NE, which is north of Glenmore and east of Deerfoot, then I have lived in the NE. If you're simple and go by address then I haven't lived in the NE, but have in every other quadrant
Sage Hill
Silver Springs
Forest Lawn
Douglasdale
Evergreen
Evergreen Estates
Shawnessy
If you go by city zones I've lived in 4 out of 9

Likewise:

SW: Connaught (Beltline), Downtown West End, Garrison Green
SE: Victoria Park (Beltline)

Deer Ridge...
A bit further south than Diamond Cove...
200K cheaper on average per house and you get bigger lots and paved alleys...
Still not Queensland...

There are some nice homes in Deer Ridge. It has the highest capita of vehicles per person potentially on the planet though. Every road and driveway is stuffed full of them.

Exactly,.
For instance, every Calgarian knows Forest Lawn is in the NE.
