Didn’t watch, but did he play the wing the entire night?
If so, it could be why as he’s played center most if not all of his career

Even Zary? He's blown away my expectations. If he was a winger I think he'd be a frontrunner for the open spot.

Not at all. They have been very disappointing so far and to think some people actually think the drafting is good and prospects like Pelletier were all but guaranteed a roster spot.

Seattle dressed a much better roster in general. The Flames prospects looked out of sync, as did the replacement level/AHL players that filled out the roster, but Seattle should have blown them out of the water considering how many regulars they had in their line-up.

Oh I didn't even realize the Flames roster had a morning skate in Calgary, flew, and played in Seattle. Vladar was saying that in the interview. Something to consider in addition to a very young line up against a decently veteran squad for the Kraken.
Also, Vladar is a great interview.

No, you're doing it wrong. None of the Flames' prospects are any good and their drafting sucks. Flaming Horse has spoken.
If the prospects were any good, they would just be able to hop off the plane, go straight to the arena, and immediately beat an NHL roster on the road without breaking a sweat.

Zary has been excellent all through camp. Can't wait to see what he can do with the vets.

Signs there that Pelletier might have a similar trajectory to Emile Poirier. Good in Q, good in AHL, but can't impress in an NHL camp, only ends up with a cup of coffee. Thought he had an edge on Zary but it might be the other way around

Yes. This game confirmed his bust status.

And this is what happens when a largely AHL team plays a largely NHL team. It's the reason why the AHL is filled with ultra talented guys who would skate circles around the average person, yet cannot get a sniff of regular NHL play.
The legit NHL players will always stifle the AHL players, and its the ability to break through that stifling that defines whether a player is capable of NHL play.

Funny the difference in perspectives.
I thought Ruzicka was patient with the puck and was able to slow things down.
Phillips was determined, for being smaller player he always goes for the puck, even stood in front of the net and close to banging on a rebound.
Pelletier has a motor, he's got good tools, just doesn't think efficiently yet. I think he could use a mentor so he plays with more confidence.
Valimaki was up and down but I think he is moving a lot better. He has better puck skills than Mackey.
Mackey is a true stay at home d man. He's solid, just don't think he's got good offensive acumen which is okay since we have a few guys that do.
Zary says he models his game to Bo Horvat and I agree, I think he's the best young guy we have. He's still raw but you can see he's got great IQ and moves a lot better than I thought. Interested to see how he does with better players.
Milano seemed to be holding the stick tight, that or he's just not good as his stats. Watching him I'm actually shocked he's a first round pick. I'll be surprised if we give him a contract.
Eakins is a typical 4th line player. Because of his speed and aggression I would take him over Rooney.

Here's something to take away from this one: Phillips led the Flames with three blocked shots in the game.

Yep, beating NHL defenders is hard and the Kraken had a few of them on tonight. That is where the real skill is. The AHL and European leagues have oodles of players with hands as good as NHLers, but if they can't think fast enough and fight through, it doesn't do them any good because they will rarely be in position to score. This is what does in a lot of would-be players.
I think it is pretty clear that some of the Flames prospects need to figure this out still.

I don't think that is fair. I am getting the sense that Pelletier's best qualities as a player are probably not the most commendable during training camp, since the level of intensity is so mind-numbingly low. I still think he is a sure-fire NHLer, but will probably not make the team out of camp. He'll get games this year, and I bet will he a hell if a lot better when he does.

I turned on the game for 5 mins and then had to head to the airport.
9 hits with 10 minutes left in the 3rd is not a very good stat for a B team.
