Watching this team fold up in every crucial matchup is so tiresome. Win a ####ing game

Might as well watch the only positive of the match today. Escalante has to be our MVP this year...

Has Carducci won us a game this year? We’ve had a lot of games this season where Cavalry has conceded three or four shots on target and we’ve allowed two or three goals. I realize as a possession team a lot of those are counter attacking high caliber chances against but still, at some point you’d like a keeper to steal some results. Not fair to dump on him with the lack of goals up front though. This was the most annoyed after a game I’ve been all year

And to cap it all off they ruined parking lot 8. That was a disaster trying to get out of there

I've never been one for partisanship so I'll go ahead and say that the opening goal was stunning!

And yeah leaving the lot was a nightmare today for some reason. After waiting in line forever, I followed everyone else in turning around and going out through the north exit.

Re: Escalante - he's annoyed me a few times this season by falling to the ground in the box trying to win the peno when he was in a better position to create a chance. Best Cavs player on the pitch today though for sure.

Sorry, Wheeldon is not going to take this team to another level.

Weird, I had the opposite experience in lot 7. Just walked right up to my car and drove out of the lot in 30 seconds.

Is it really on him though? We’ve lost our best to higher leagues this summer, whereas other clubs haven’t had to deal with that. I look at a team like Forge and they’re stacked for the CPL…but their best players are heading to Europe or MLS. It’s kind of big fish in a little pond, whereas we’ve seen a few of ours head in to bigger and better leagues. It does suck as a fan, but that’s the nature of a development league.

And, as a result, I don’t really blame Wheeldon. I think he’s doing exactly what he should be, although it makes things tough for the club in a winning championships sort of way!

I dont think thst his game management has been all that poor, but selling two key players mid season is going to knee cap for team. For short term at least.

Yeah, not sure what the issue with 8 was yesterday. We turned around and went out the loop that is shared with 7, and there were zero cars waiting to get out of 7 and it was nearly empty.

His game management is atrocious!

Ottawa played them like a fiddle yesterday and everyone knew it was coming and as soon as they had the early goal Calgary was barely ever even in it.

That's what I did too! Was out in 30 seconds. It's because they don't let the south lot go turn north out the 2nd exit anymore, whereas they used to. Now I'll try parking in the north lot again.

Also, this team really misses Pepple and Loturi. Excited to get Bevan back though. Win or lose, Cavs games are awesome, and I'll always be at the games as much as possible!

Don't think it's game management as opposed to the way Cavalry's squad was built. The way the roster is built plays right into Ottawa's hands.

Ottawa play just like the parent club, they bunker and counter. Cavalry have one attacking midfielder with any talent, and he's injured all the time, so they refuse to play through the middle, relying on playing the ball wide and crossing the ball in. But Mason isn't the type of forward who is built to win headers in the box. So it's just cross, ball is cleared, repeat. Get a corner, ball is cleared, repeat. Then when a mistake is made the back line is woefully unprepared to deal with the counter and they give up quality scoring chances that are buried.

Trafford, Simmons and Di Chiara all struggle with the ball at feet, so they force it wide. Occasionally someone like Musse tries to cut in but eventually he runs out of options and gives the ball away.

Priority #1 this offseason has to be upgrading attacking mid. I love Camargo, and think he stays, but he just can't stay healthy. Need someone more reliable. Coaching wise I think Tommy is just fine for this league, but where he really lacks is in the roster he builds. He was able to get a head start in 2019 by bringing a bunch of pros to play amateur for a year and assess that squad. But should he ignore the glaring deficiency in the offseason I think it's time to question if he can actually build a winner.

The real problem is that if you are aware of all of this there are adaptations you can make to your game plan and Wheeldon didnt use any of those tactics and he hasn't.

Despite the fact that the whole world knew how Ottawa was going to play that game. And he still let them.

Either way, Wheeldon and I have never seen eye-to-eye. I was there yesterday and despite the loss I absolutely loved it, it was a wonderful atmosphere and experience.

If any of you are the Foot Soldiers behind the net, keep doing what you're doing, its fantastic bang for your entertainment buck.

Really miss what Julian Buscher did for this team in 2019. Haven't had a ball-moving midfielder down the centre like that since.

Cavalry just emailed season ticket holders saying they can opt-in for playoff tickets at the season ticket rate, and can get up to 10 at the same price.

Now....to....make the playoffs....

4 years ago was the first game at Spruce Meadows. Pretty cool to see the difference between then and now.

Big game tomorrow as Cavalry plays Valour at 1:30. Valour are 4 points back with 2 games remaining. A draw means Cavalry secures a playoff spot. But a loss against Valour means there's a good chance Cavalry miss out on the playoffs, as Valour play Edmonton to finish the year while Cavalry play Pacific.

I think Cavalry can pull it off but it shouldn't have been this nervy at this time of the season.

Ottawa won again which means Cavalry cannot finish first. That trophy that didn't exist 2 weeks ago is already out of reach, damn.
