The guys a fake poster. I doubt he's even an Oiler fan as he goes out of his way to look stupid.

He's made up multiple quotes. One from Austin Matthews talking about leaving the Leafs at the end of his contract because the future is so bad.

One from Jake Virtanen talking about signing with the Oilers so he can get revenge on the rest of the league.

And this one, and when you ask him to back them up he goes silent.

I mean at first it was occasionally chuckle worthy, now its just lame.

He's a massive phony troll.

Yeah this guy has been called out quite often on fake quotes on twitter including in the comments on this one. It’s not a good look.

McDavid is just socially inept. He tried to give the safest response possible:
Don't offend Canadians? Check.
Don't offend Hockey Canada? Check.
Don't offend anyone in this situation? Check.

Unfortunately with what is going on, a safe answer is actually the riskiest one - you have to make a decisive statement condemning what happened and anyone that has tried to cover it up or enable it... But he's not that bright, hence the moronic statement he gave.

I posted this on HF Oilers and a mod erased it pretty quickly. Such a sensitive group over there. I know it isn't the best satire and someone more creative than me could have written a good story to go along with it.
