$4.425 per~!!! lol

Bennett is prob one of the main reasons why Florida couldn't re-sign hubey! Legendary stuff!

Best thing he ever did for the flames other than "trying" in 10 games out of 400.

^I'm not sure why you're "lol"ing. $4.4 AAV is about what you would expect for a player of Bennett's production and role. He's being paid the market rate.

Agreed. Second line money is now starting to fall in the range of $5-7 m. People often seem to have a very difficult time adjusting their own perception to inflation.

Come on guys. We've watched Bennett for the past 8 years. He isn't 2nd line material. He was propped up by Huberdeau. He will fall back to what he is worth. $2.5 to $2.75 mil.

The guy has a hockey IQ of a tomato.

Assuming he stays around 50 points...I have my doubts depending where he plays

Huberdeau also had a career year playing with Bennett, better than he ever had playing with Barkov so it works both ways. They were beneficial to each other.

Yeah, but he is not getting paid second line money moving forward. I don't see that this is a contract which will age poorly, especially as the cap rises. We can agree that he won't be a bargain, but I also don't think he is overpaid.

It certainly works more one way... Huberdeau had 115 to Bennett's 49.

Huberdeau has also had seasons in the 80s and 90s where Bennett never hit 30 points previously.

“We’re trying to get something done and hopefully we’ll get something done soon," Weegar said at the Flames' golf tournament on Wednesday.

8x6.5 would be a pretty damn good deal for the Flames
