Well, it certainly wasn't pretty, but Vasek guts out a tough three set win to give Canada a 1-0 lead in the Davis Cup tie with South Korea. Pops came back from 1-4 down in set 3 to take set 3 in a tie-break (7-5 was the tie-breaker score).

Unfortunately, Felix lost in straight sets to Soonwoo Kwon 7-6 6-3 and we're all square at 1-1.

Man, if we're having this much trouble with South Korea, Spain and Serbia are going to mop the floor with Canada.

Felix and Vasek win the doubles. Pretty shaky tennis from both guys today however.

I just saw the highlights and Soon-woo played well but Felix was terrible. Not sure what's up with that performance.

Great to see Luisa back and healthy and her and Gaby resuming their partnership - They were looking great in the US Open doubles last year when Luisa suffered that horrific knee injury.

Genie Bouchard is into the quarter-finals of the WTA event in India. I've watched some of her highlights over the last couple of days and she's hitting a nice tennis ball which is great to see.

Speaking of Genie, is Raonic ever going to play again? Last I heard he got married but it seems to be pretty quiet on his front. I know he's got a lot of other business things going on so I don't know if it's as much a priority now he's in his 30's.

If his twitter account is any indication he is really into investing in run down commercial real estate to flip for easy profits.

Roger Federer announces he'll retire at Laver Cup in emotional message to fans

Sad that we never got to see him in one more grand slam but I'm happy that he's come to terms with the end of his career and wants to move on.

We can talk about a big three all we want, Roger and Roger alone elevated this sport to new heights of popularity with his gloriously beautiful style. Pretty much right there with Ali for most beloved athlete ever. Sad that he couldn't end it on his own terms, but that rarely ever happens anyway. Will always be glad I got to see him at the Mecca.
