Yes, Nick has some contacts that brought in some great guests including Gretzky. I had a hard time listening to Nick and Matt though, it can't be easy doing a show with little to no pre existing chemistry or trying to develop chemistry on the fly, they were talking about nachos or wings one morning and it was unlistenable. Other then Pat I find everyone on the station very "un worldly" and inexperienced which are not good on air combinations. Boomer, Pinder, Rob Kerr even Peter Klein all had knowledge and real world life experiences that they could draw off of and defer to to fill airtime.

People just like to complain. Do you think the station should just talk about the Flames and only the Flames all day every day? If they do so, then the same people will compain about hearing the same sh*t repeating 8 times over the past 3 hours...

Had the fan on this afternoon as I was in the garage and I was surprised to hear they had Rick ball on. I don’t recall them having Rick on the past, and while I did not hear everything he said, I thought it was a nice add to the show and hope to hear him regularly

He is a fairly regular guest during the Flames season. He shared that he broke is leg golfing, he was running across the fairway to chase away a bird that was in his cart trying to get at his sandwich and step into a hole.

They did talk about that first thing in the morning when they got on air but it was pretty minimal as they haven't been doing as much CFL this year.

I hate to admit it here but I listen to the Oilers show most days from noon till 2 and even though Stauffer non stop mouth drives me nuts their guests and others on the show are far better than ours. Where I am going with this is I am not sure if Stauffer does this as his own gig or he is part of the Oilers on this like he is on the radio/tv games. My gut tells me with all the trying to promote his sponsors non stop this may be his own gig.
I wonder if Boomer could get something like this going here but for himself. i would rather listen to Flames talk with good interviews and guests than the Oilers show but ours totally sucks. Even Steinberg sounds like he is just looking for stuff to ramble about.
We need a good show...........

If I don't have a dog in the fight I'm not interested. I can't stand NFL. IMHO It is THE most over hyped, over done, over the top sport out there save for maybe NASCAR. I hear all these reasons people are fans of Atlanta? LA? Green Bay? Etc and half the time its "because I like the colors". These "fans" have never even been there.
I like America and Americans, spent plenty of time down south but no dog in the fight means I don't care.
I always switched the station in the past when its NFL and that's my prerogative. Sadly I find the current quality so poor theres nothing to listen to in morning anymore. Do like Francis and Stienberg but sure is thin now. Those morning guys including Rose, a good CFL guy, just sound like children talking about sports as if they know something we don't.

I was in the same boat for my whole life, hated the NFL. And then I watched the show QB1 on Netflix and for whatever reason it all clicked and I realized how similar hockey and football are. The physicality, the idea of going down into there end and scoring, the speed of the game (the actual game itself, each play), the Draft, building a team within the confines of a salary cap. The last 5 years now I’ve become a pretty big NFL fan. Anyways, I empathize with you but I love me some NFL chat on sports radio. Especially when there’s no hockey going on.

As someone who has been to two Colts games this month, I can relate. It's so oversaturated.
Calgary is the only place to hear about the Flames, Stampeders, Roughnecks, Hitmen, Wranglers, Dinos, Cougars, Cavalry FC, AJHL teams, etc.
