We'll see, I am hoping PP doesn't fall for the usual hate fueled Trudeau tactics to wedge and divide Canadians and keep everyone in a constant state of anger to distract from Trudeau himself. So far PP has been focusing mostly on winning over existing conservatives, now that he is party leader he will have to shift to focusing on all Canadians. The next few months should be interesting, and I'm not going to judge until he has had a chance to establish himself in the new role.

But Milhouse has already done that.

I too hope the “Justinflation” guy who stood with the “F—k Trudeau” trucker crowd doesn’t resort to hateful or divisive rhetoric. It would be a real shiner if he did something like that.

It’s almost as if you can’t discuss PP without bringing up Trudeau.

I'm not sure he can discuss much of anything without bringing up Trudeau: out of 36 posts (I seem to remember more, so some must have been in a deleted election thread or something) StickMan has mentioned Trudeau in 22 of them, or 61% of all his posts.

Edit: Actually, it's interesting that he apparently has 380ish posts, but only 36 of them still exist. Meaning about 90% of his posts are likely in election threads/old Canadian politics threads. Paid shill? Wouldn't be surprising.

Don't be ridiculous; no one would pay for this.

I really don't understand the JT is ruining the country argument. I think most people agree that he is a total wanker, but what has objectively changed as a result of this federal government?

Watchout StickMan...Pepsi is watching your every comment.

Pepsi, with your penchant for thoroughness, I think you would be great working for Revenue Canada.

He's probably spent far more money than necessary with pretty poor oversight. I think he's overseen some disasters, particularity in ship and military procurement. Some of his environmental policies are suspect. I'm sure there are others(please fill us in, CPC supporters...) I don't think any of this reaches the "ruining our country" level.

I do wonder how PP would have handled Trump's NAFTA temper tantrum. I suspect we'd have been left out. I think that would have been very bad.

Historically, it is quite difficult to maintain power for more than 10 years in Canadian federal politics.

Here are the leaders who’ve managed it:

1. Sir John A MacDonald - 1878-1891
2. Wilfrid Laurier - 1896-1911
3. Pierre Trudeau - 1968-1979
4. Jean Chrétien - 1993-2003

There are several others who’ve made it to 9, but the point I’m making is that this country doesn’t give lifetime appointments to people who hold the highest office in the land.

And that’s a good thing.

That mainstreet poll tells you that 39% of the country would vote conservative, and 45% would vote some form of left leaning government. A Conservative majority would be very unlikely, but a conservative minority is definitely in play, and it isn’t a bad outcome.

Sharing power keeps democracy healthy.

It’s either that, or he used CP’s simplistic search function on an incidental basis.

Takes about 30 seconds to search "StickMan" "Trudeau," see 22 results, and calculate the percentage against the 36 results of just "StickMan." That's including the 10 second delay they have between searches.

Reading every StickMan comment? Have you seen any of them? I'm not a masochist. Which is also why I could never work for Revenue Canada.

I believe it’s a combination of a handheld click-counter and an excel spreadsheet.

No it doesn't.
I went ahead and actually looked at the full poll report, and it shows Liberals were polled as the winners.

The snippet shown on the tweet seems likeky to be a followup question only asked to people who responded a certain way to a previous question, but I couldn't find it in the report.

I'm not disagreeing that a Conservative minority is in play but the poll tweet seems misleading (unsurprisingly based on the poster).

It blows my mind that anyone would vote for Trudeau liberals, Canadians must like to suffer.

Agreed. If we have to have a Polievre government, make it a minority and keep these bozos in check. I'm still not convinced his election is a slam dunk though, people vote with their wallets and if the economy continues to be strong and people start enjoying the benefits of childcare and dentalcare, it's not going to help Skippy in any way.
