My wife has been following the Telegram channel for her village (Kozacha Lopan) and there is some chatter that the Ukrainians will be pushing to take back that settlement shortly. People are being warned to stay indoors and underground if possible. Quite a few Russians are there along with lots of RU supplies and still many UA citizens. Thank god her family got out. Hoping the Russians will do the smart thing and just leave.

I don't think so. Kherson is a different kind of offensive. There are a large amount of Russian forces and equipment in the area, and because of how flat and exposed the surrounding area is, it's tough to advance quickly without taking a lot of losses. So Ukraine has been focusing on longer-range attacks on supply routes/ammo dumps and smaller probing attacks. The goal there seems to be inflicting damage more so than capturing land at this point. Essentially, they want to keep Russian forces engaged in the area while wearing them down. And by doing that, they keep the forces thinner elsewhere.

Pretty sure Baron is a career military man in the Canadian Forces… correct me if I’m wrong. But most of his posts in relation to military have been very intelligent and thought out. I realize his last posts in this thread have not aged well, but perhaps that is a product of information over political views?

Maybe he should not take his sources from Russian propaganda? It was pretty easy for anyone to tell that Rybar and such are full of #### and not to be trusted. Parroting them here doesn’t really do much than ruin your own credibility. Anyway on to an interesting thread here.

Basically the Luhansk/Donetsk border is undefended and Russian officials and cronies from Luhansk are fleeing back to Russia even though Luhansk is not under attack yet. It’s possible for a lot more losses to happen in the east considering their best troops are tied down in Kherson by artillery and rockets.
