I may be off base here, but I think some of you assume this holiday we're getting will become a permanent fixture. It won't. It's just going to be a one off for 2022.

We'll probably also get a one off holiday for King Chucky's coronation in a few months.

Lol! You will not!

Justin can blow off First Nations because he couldnt care less about them, you think he's going to blow off some of the wealthiest and most powerful White people around??

That guy is going to be in London licking so much boot and kissing so much ass it'll make your head spin.

Right, plus I'm too poor for Tofino.

It's funny how Pierre was Mr. Too Cool for the Monarchy with his cheeky dancing behind the Queen's back and other antics, but Justin falls right in line.

Although, I guess it makes sense that he can relate to people who are raised in a life of privilege and rise to power without doing any work just because of who their parents are.

I don’t think getting the stat here is a lock. The UK had a national holiday for William’s wedding which didn’t trickle its way here. But I can see making an exception for the longest serving monarch and probably she will never beaten. Like Locke said too, it’s easy points for Trudeau

Justin will just recommend that employers give the day off, and he’ll give fed workers the day off. That’ll be totally on brand.

Probably just the ones who process passport applications.

I can totally see this. Kind of hope we don’t get one anyway, my on call person that day will just get stung with all the work that still needs to be done. And then I need to find time and a half to give them off to make up for it.

I’ve never had problems when getting my passport renewed - in fact when I’ve needed expedited processing, the service from the Consulate here in London has been first class. They used to be able to process the passports here, but now I believe our applications go to somewhere in the Maritimes, but I hardly noticed the difference.

You clearly havent had to do it in the past few years then.

Its been a well documented clusterfata the last 2-3 years.

I've been told that the user known only as 'jammies' collects time and just hoards it like Smaug on a mountain of treasure.

No reason.

But yeah, give yourself HUGE leeway in terms of getting a passport renewed. I think the general advice was to renew 6 months in advance of expiry for any trips...probably should double that at the moment.

Which is hilarious. Because its taking a problem and compounding it.

"This doesnt need to be renewed for a year, why are they renewing it now?"

Maybe because you're taking 8-10 months to produce a simple document you clowns?

Really only the last 6 months or so. During Covid passport renewal were speedy because no one applied. I’m not even sure this post Covid crunch was any worse than the US land boarder change years ago.

No one applied but also I don't think they were even accepting paperwork for about a year unless it was a dire circumstance.

That's when I got my first passport and it was a damned mess. One office in the entire city and you couldn't make an appointment, so you had to take half a day off work and sit there for about 3 hours waiting for your number to get called.

There was a pretty solid chunk of covid that they weren't accepting passport applications at all. Presumably they wanted to let them all pile up for "reasons".
