You mean something that happened on the ice? That is exactly what I said...say whatever you want about the guys on ice play/actions.
Many of the personal attacks seem race based...gonna leave it at that you guys can continue to pile on. I'm "just as stupid" as the guys who say disgustingly racist things about him apparently.
There is no good reason to not like this guy personally...he is one of the good guys actually doing something positive with his fame/fortune

The generalization brush is really becoming a thing now a days; in no way do I want to downplay the fact that Kads has faced racism from fans, opponents/players and others throughout his life and career and I give him full marks for rising above but when you say ‘anyone who talks crap about this guy as a person is a flat out racist’ I think it’s taking it a step too far and painting many people who aren’t racist with that brush.
To be clear I understand the sentiment dino7c is saying; he’s trying to separate Kadri the player and Kadri the person and saying that anyone who talks crap about Kadri the person (not the player) is in fact a racist. Again though it’s a disingenuous way to look at things because not all people who dislike someone are doing so because of race/creed/religion/sexuality etc.

You're allowed to not like someone because of the dirty crap they do on the ice. I don't know if Bryan Marchment might've dedicated his life to charity and giving back (like I have) but that doesn't mean I have to think he's a good person.

That's an amazing philanthropic action on the part of Nazem Kadri. We're lucky he's going to be part of the Calgary community for the what should be a long time.
It's really disappointing the very first response to the posting of Kadri's donation and opening ceremony of the Kadri Wing brought up race. It wasn't a racist response, but mentioned race which then, of course, turned the conversation all about that. Maybe, just maybe, everytime Kadri does something - good or bad - race doesn't have to enter the conversation. Just like when Tkachuk (Tkachuk is an agitator like Kadri) did something good or bad. Food for thought.

The key is to not fall into the trap of believing that you're missing out on anything by not being on it. Today or next year it will be the same thing.
It's better if people don't know what you're up to all the time and vice versa. That way not everything is already known/spoiled when you have conversations in person. Some mystery is neat.

My only concerns with Kadri are:
1. That he loses his cool and takes an untimely penalty; or
2. He recklessly injures another player.
He seems to be moving away from that as he gets older.

I really don't have any problem with that. In fact, I wish more NHL players would go off script. It's more things like reckless hits and the throat slitting gestures which would be a problem for me. Hockey is a heated game, but you can't threaten anyone's life.
I do think that Kadri seems to have settled down now, and seems to be more on the right side of playing with an edge. Overall, that's something the team really lacks without him.
