Iga isn't even trying. This looks like hitting practice. Just keep playing points and see what happens appears to be the entire strategy here, and she never drops her level. It must be incredibly frustrating.
Update: Iga started trying. Weirdly she decided to do it down 40-0 on Pegula's serve. Why then? Who can say. The Iga works in mysterious ways.

Weird how there was only one service break (and only 8 total breakpoints) in the match but the two tiebreakers weren't even close as Rublev couldn't handle the pressure. Credit to Tiafoe who played well.
Like 5 breaks in a row leading up to the tiebreaker and then the first 5 points in the tiebreak won by the returner... no one could hold.

Tough one for Rublev, but what a run for Frances. Hard to believe that neither Berrettini nor Kyrgios could advance (especially Kyrgios), Sinner and Alcaraz dueling as I type.
Alcaraz and Sinner just played arguably the point of the tournament so that might pick things up... it's going at least 4, anyway.
EDIT: Welp, I jinxed it.

Alcaraz with a BEHIND THE BACK SHOT to set up a cross court passing shot, saving break point and getting back to deuce with a chance to take a stranglehold. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED

just turned this on for the final game and tiebreaker of the 2nd set and OMG some of the best tennis I have ever watched. Every point was stunning
Just think these two will be battling each other for Slams for another decade. We just need a cool name for the rivalry......Salcaraz or Ainner isn't very good

The level since the second half of set 2 is insane.

Good lord, Sinner had to scrape and claw his way into the tie break but once he got there he activated God Mode.

Carlos's Super Mario-esque invincibility star seems to have worn off. Plenty of time for another change in momentum back towards him though.

Anyone else's feed just cut out? EDIT And now back but no more ESPN. This is a massive win.

Off to five plus hours we go... when was the last match this good that didn't feature one of the big 3?
