Didn't really like Daemon's mad-dash across the beach, arrows raining down on him, singlehandedly cutting down like thirty guys. Then he gets shot (multiple times!), but it's not that bad and he's back at it a few minutes later. Meh. Also reduced crab-man to a plot foil when he could've been so much more.
The court intrigue has been good, and I'm really buying the King's confusion and need to please everyone. Rhaenyra is such a good young actor.

Pardon the pun, but I think crab-man was really just a stepping stone to the real conflict this show will eventually be centered around (members of house Targaryen who consider themselves rightful heirs to the throne).
The cutting guys down made sense since it's to show us how Daemon is a force to be reckoned with. The dodging of a multitude of arrows being part of their plan, and then him bouncing back after being hit was a little silly though, sure.

Yeah, he was for sure. But I would've liked just a bit of motivation or even explanation for their extended uprising: not just sadistic psycho enjoys feeding pet crabs on the beach. Plus, he looked cool.

That was my exact question when he came out of the cave.

It looks like the crab feeders greyscale was being treated. Also none of his troops seemed to be too concerned about the greyscale.
That being said, why have the greyscale there in the first place if it wasn't going to play a role? To emphasize how crazy the crab feeders was and give him a more horrific appearance? They also made a point of emphasizing how much of the crab feeders blood was on Daemon, surely he was exposed.
Very odd use of a character though. Did we even hear the crab feeder speak? Although if they can keep the story focused on the main plot that will be better than just restoring to some horror story type stuff.

I’m surprised Daemon could run so fast wearing all that plot armour…
Really enjoyed the kings hunt. Much better than the original GoT with a few dudes going for a walk in the woods.

I had the same thought. There are many parallels between first seasons but as far as the royal hunts, HotD did much better job.
There's just something rich in that scene about the emasculating feel of them roping up the stag, and walking Viserys through where to puncture the animal and then applauding him for killing it poorly that really epitomizes the degradation of his state and former glory to this now troubled King in his twilight that has lost control of everything around him including his offspring.
The care they put into the episode really does harken back to the glory days of Game of Thrones and i love that.
The battle on the other hand was a little more reminiscent of later seasons, where things would get built up only to take a quick exit and leave key moments off screen (Daemon slaying the crabfeeder).
Nevertheless, the last third of the episode was still entertaining TV.

Duh, Daemon’s a Time Lord, he just used some regeneration energy to heal his wounds. And he got to the crab king before he went there.

Are you just speculating, or are these book spoilers? Because if the latter, shut the #### up.

Are we treating stuff in the trailer for the next episode as spoilers?

As long as it's as steamy as the red woman leech scene.

I really enjoyed episode three, particularly the first 45 minutes or so.
But I don't really understand how an army that was fending off a dragon (who we are told/we see in the original series how powerful they are) wasn't able to defend against Daemon running through 25 people.
I'd guess there are probably scenarios I overlooked in the first four seasons of GoT that were like this, but I hope for better.

The military tactics in GoT have never made sense. Even the much-loved Battle of the Bastards was ridiculous.
