I wonder if it's George Rusic they're bringing over. I remember years ago when Pinder left the first time Rusic randomly co-hosted for a week or so and fit the tone pretty well, and the guys all seemed to love having him on as a guest in the following years. However I think he mostly just does sports betting stuff now which I couldn't care less about.

Gibbons has been coming on!?!? Man, I would have been tuning in if I'd known that.

The last bunch of times I've tuned in there is nothing local. I don't want just Flames, I'd love more Stampeders and other local teams. Are these buried during the work day, or have I just had bad luck in missing them?

There honestly isn't that much local to fill up significant time during a day. The Stamps? Yeah, you can talk about them a bit. Cavalry? I personally love the new league and our local team, but the fan base is relatively small still.

I know many hate the Blue Jays talk, but at the end of the day they get 500k-1.5mil viewers a game in this country. The Cavalry have a few thousand people that go to games and maybe hundreds that follow enough to care about the day to day to the point of staying tuned in if they come up on local radio.

Like I get the "local" sports angle and wanting it be more about that. But if I'm guessing there's probably 15000-25000 people in Calgary that follow the Cavs/go to games. Of that there's probably 1500-2000 that follow closely enough to follow news and updates regarding the team and players.

Of that? There's probably 50-100 that may actually be tuning into the SN960 when Cavs discussion comes up.

15000 might be a little generous, but I might be out to lunch.

I think the Tommy Wheeldon interviews have increased peoples interest….there may not be 15,000 die hard fans…but I’m sure there are many unconditional Calgary sports fan who like to hear how they are doing…

I think there is roughly 2300-2500 season ticket holders…ish?

I just hope the new morning show remembers its sports talk radio…I wasn’t the biggest Boomer fan… outside of the flames and stamps, he didn’t have much intelligent to say about other sports…he had an arrogant “I don’t care about this sport so I’m just going to mock it” attitude about him.

Lol I loved Boomer, even though he did do this.

"This has been your NBA update" always made me laugh.

I believe Gibbons is coming out with a book soon so he's been doing a lot of media. He was on Tim and Friends a few weeks ago as well.

I would guess less than half of that if you assume every ticket holder has two seats.

I could see that being a decent career choice for his personality.

Dang, Darryl just lays it out. Says the team was one of the worst conditioned teams in the league prior to last season and they had become a slow team because of it.
