So what is it with tennis and injury? Might be just me but it seems that the chance of injury and ongoing injuries has increased by a ton at the ultra high levels? Is it body type, the changes in the game, the high level of competition, court movement....???

I think tennis is a much more physical game than the past. Used to be serve and volley but now players stay on the baseline and hit it as hard as they can every shot. Plus with the new rackets you can swing 100mph where with wooden rackets you were unable to play that style, much slower swings. If you give Nadal a wooden racket he wouldn't be able to play his current game

Fabio was up 4-2 in set 2, Rafa takes set 2 6-4 as he upps his level and Fognini started spraying the ball all over the court.

It wouldn't be a Rafa Grand Slam match in 2022 if I didn't think he was going to lose

This is the weirdest match ever and it just got even weirder. Nadal gets a 4 min high sticking penalty because of blood

Was that a self-inflicted wound?

I've taken a self inflicted racquet to the nose before, due to over-exaggerated Nadal buggy whip follow through. my eyes wouldn't stop watering for a half hour, it's the worst.
welcome to the NHL, Rafa

Murray vs. Berrettini is coming up shortly - I like both guys, but I gotta root for Andy in this one.

Kinda wish Murray and Draper were on the same side of the draw.

Rebecca Marino just lost to Zhang Shuai 6-2 6-4, but she pockets $188,000 for making the third round and is well inside the top 100 in the rankings. The score doesn't reflect how well Rebecca played, Shuai was just that much better and was getting everything back today.

Andy Murray is still down two sets to one, but that was a great tie-break he just played to force a 4th set.
Edit: Murray runs out of gas in set 4 and Matteo takes it 6-3.

Also, Leylah is still busy playing doubles (with Daria Saville) and mixed doubles (with Jack Sock).
Edit: Team Lululemon advances in mixed doubles 10-5 in the deciding match super-breaker.

Noooo Draper had to retire due to injury. He was leading the match too before he got hurt.

Tommy Paul was up 6-4 40-0 in the 3rd set. Rudd turns it around and wins the tiebreaker 7-2.
