They are running position polls over at hf right now. Draisaitl was ranked as the 4th best centre behind McLotto, Matthews and MacKinnon. Personally I'd put Barkov and possibly still Crosby ahead of him as well.
When you factor in Goalies, Defence and Wingers it would be hard to put Pissy anywhere above the 8-15 range.
MacKinnon wouldn't be #2 either, probably closer to #5.

Its almost hard to believe that he's 25 years old. Probably in his prime, what happens if he loses that step later on in his career.
Can he adopt his game?

This is absolutely not "The CP Top 3."

Yeah when you hear people talking about him being the best dman since Orr you sit up and take notice.
He has a very unique skill set. In the same universe as Adam Fox, Quin Hughes, etc, but just at a completely different level.
To me you now have those guys in their own tier (McDavid and Makar)
And then you have a next tier down.
I also debated where I would place Shesterkin, but it's so hard to compare goalies to skater. He would probably be 6-8 for me.

Yeah, no one thinks Leon is in the top 3 outside of the tight knit community of McFart smellers in central Alberta.

Ooof someone is an angry little man today. Leon put up 32 points in 16 games on one leg, also his career playoff points are better than Matthews or Makars. Top 3 any way you look at it.

Yes, but did you consider the fact that Draisaitl is a wanker?

Shesterkin to me is the closest thing to Hasek now, though he is doing it much earlier in his career. It is going to be fascinating watching him develop, but I have no idea where to rank him.
McDavid
Makar
MacKinnon
Mathews
Draisaitl/Barkov
Barkov is world-class all over the ice. I feel he would have much better offensive stats if he simply cheated more. I wonder if Florida would have agreed to the Feaster offer of all 3 1st round picks that year that he made to Colorado? Probably not, but I do wonder if it would have been enough for Florida.

Don't forget pre-season stats. That's where greats like Perlini, Rattie and Vladdy Hockey are born.

17 of those points game in a 5 games series against the Flames. So he got 15 points in 11 games beyond that series. Playing half the game and ALL the powerplay minutes. Not to mention not being able to generate much of anything on his own. I don't buy this one leg garbage Oiler fans and state/Oiler controlled media are trying to push.
I'd take Matthews or Makar over him any day of the week. Fact is, he's a 70-80 point player on his own.
Edit - I'm only using the only system of player comparison Oiler fans know (points) because you did. Most people that know anything about hockey know that there's a lot more than points that go into the "best" player (s) in the world award.

He actually has two legs.
Two feet, too.
He is also not top 3.

Serious question, how do you give the top spot to the guy without any hardware and a defensive liability?
Two of your top three just won the cup and one of the them was the MVP in the hardest tournament in the world. As a defenceman against your top guy. I can't follow the logic here. They went head to head and your #1 lost. Badly.

He’s a human cheat code. He plays the offensive game at top speed better than anyone in history
He’s also on a team that is no good

McD may still win a championship-when he hits UFA and bolts to a better team. It's gonna happen.
