How tough is it to get in Canmore G&CC? Would like to maybe try to get on Friday am since kananaskis doesn’t look good.

Felt like throwing my bag into the water.
I played with someone years ago who threw his bag into the pond on Hole #13 in Nanton. He came back later to get the bag back as it had his wallett and car keys. We bumped into him in the parking lot after we were done and asked why he was all wet

What happens in Nanton gets posted on CP.

I haven't played there in a few years, but you could get on reasonably easily at that point. I don't know about the Friday of a long weekend though! It's great though, if you haven't been. Nice track and obviously the mountain views without the Silvertip or Stewart Creek price tag. (The views aren't quite the same)

I golfed with a work group on Friday. The host commented he could not find a tee time for the 4 of us a week in advance at kaninaskis or any of the Canmore courses. He passed on a 3.30 time at Banff

I guess it depends on how many of you want to golf and if you have time restrictions

I played Wolf Creek this past weekend (Old Course). It was a good course, nice layout, etc. But I don't see how it continually ranks amongst the top courses in Canada (Score Golf Top 100). From a total golf experience, I don't see this coming close to Tower Ranch, Predator Ridge, Kananaskis or any other course it topped.

Well, in the latest score rankings it only beat the predator ridge - predator course and Mount lorette at kananaskis. None of the others.

That’s ranked just on golf course though. Not amenities.

If anyone is looking for a good time, I highly recommend the Cat and Fiddle pub Texas Scramble @ The Winston.

Got stung 3 times on the golf course this evening. Twice on my right hand and another on my ankle. Effing wasps were everywhere!

My friend quit after 7hrs and they still hadn’t played 18 holes. Hard pass.

We were just under 6 which is fair since we were playing in 8somes.

There were plenty of prizes, plenty of food and drink holes.

The wind up took a bit longer than one would have wanted, but the prizes in the end were worth the wait.

The tourney raised $90k for hospice Calgary, which was cool to be a part of.

Playing Bear Mountain tomorrow, have been wanting to for a while.
Hopefully no actual bears get too close.

Which course? Both are outstanding. You'll likely enjoy yourself more on valley than mountain as the back on mountain can be punishing because of the targets you are forced to hit, many of them semi-blind. The conditions there are always amazing and the service is second to none. Always a must pay when you're on the island! I'm peanut butter and jelly.

I’m playing kananaskis (Lorette) on Friday. First time out there this year. Better condition than last year I hope!

Love playing out there early morning. Great course to walk.

It's Cart Path Only, so you may as well walk it anyway.

One of the guys I golf with had an unfortunate accident this past afternoon. We were sitting on the deck after our round and having a few drinks. One of my playing partners failed to notice a wasp in the glass of his draft. He takes a drink and the wasp ends up inside his wouth where it stings him. His face and his mouth is all swollen now.
