How are the draws looking for Leylah and Bianca? Serena could face the #2 seed in the 2nd round.

I hope we never see Novax in North America ever again. What a loser. Ruins his legacy because he is wingnut crazy.

Tracy Austin's son Brandon Holt has qualified for the main draw. Most folks around these parts probably didn't see Tracy play live, but I did and she was quite the sensation winning two US Open singles titles. Unfortunately, some pretty serious back issues put an early end to her career.

Interesting that Nick gets prime time on Ashe over the defending champ.

Could be a late night match if Serena loses there will be a huge good bye celebration.
I'm going to be honest, I don't know if any US Open will be able to top 2019 for me. Watching Bianca win the first ever slam for Canada and then the next day Nadal winning an absolute classic 5 set match for his 19th slam will be hard to ever top.

I only watched Steffi Graf play when I was very young and hardly remember her career, for those of you who had the privilege of watching her, how does she compare to Serena? I think it's weird she had very close stats to Serena but it seems like there is no GOAT debate in women's tennis.

Steffi was the Serena of her time (well, that is until Monica Seles came on the scene). She hit the ball with much more pace then her contemporaries and quite literary blew them off the court. Obviously, her career was highlighted by winning the golden slam in 1988. Monica Seles arrived though in 1989 and she quickly ascended to being the top player on tour and won a bunch of grand slams in the early 90's. That crazed Graf fan in Germany stabbed Seles in the back in the tourney in Hamburg in 1993 and although Seles attempted a comeback a couple of years later, she was never again the same player.
It would have been very interesting to see how many slams Seles would have won if not for the stabbing incident, I don't think high teens or even hitting 20 would have been out of the question.

From Wiki, damn Seles was unreal!
From January 1991 through February 1993, Seles won 22 titles and reached 33 finals out of the 34 tournaments she played. She compiled a 159–12 win–loss record (92.9% winning percentage), including a 55–1 win–loss record (98%) in Grand Slam tournaments.
And this was when she was still just a teenager. She absolutely could have got 25+ Slams.

She had a forehand that rivaled some male tennis players at that time. By far best of all time in the women's game and one of the best serves ever as well (not as good as Serena's). It's really close but personally I think Graf is the best player all time as she won more matches, way more singles titles, and finished with a higher career win %. Williams has one more Grand Slam but she had to play in more Grand Slam tournaments to achieve that.
If you want to combine doubles then Navratilova for sure as nobody will likely ever touch her 59 grand slam victories in doubles and singles. Her serve and volley game was unrivalled in women's tennis. I don't think that type of play would translate today (as with players like Edberg or McEnroe) as athletes and racquets have evolved to more of a power game but in her day she dominated.

Just to add on to EE's post above regarding Steffi, she retired from tennis at the age of 30 when she was ranked at #3 in the world. I think she definitely could have won a couple more slams has she not walked away from tennis when she did.
