Here's the top 30 in 2015. I get that there is a lot of movement in a re-draft but is there anyone that supplants McAvi at first overall? I don't think so.

after Kadri seemingly being the Leafs favourite whipping boy for so long, I was happy for him to do so well with the Avs. I'm really happy to see him with the Flames now and am looking forward to watching him settle in and find his role on this team.

He was immature at the time. Missing practices or being late, laissez faire many occasions, and of course the many suspensions at the wrong time. Most of it was very well deserved. Has he grown up? Hopefully. Anyway, my take is the Flames will regret giving him a 7 year deal. The price isn’t bad short term but after four seasons it’ll be another albatross we’ll have to pay to take off our hands. I understand why the team did it, to go all in this year, but it’s painful to see how this will be managed in a few years. Anyway, if they are indeed going all in, I hope Kessel is signed.

Except Kadri's contract is very buyout friendly in the last 2-3 years, I believe 2.33 million a year.
It is kinda crazy how this signing helps out the center depth on this team, which was needed. As others have said, I can see pairs for the top 9 and then we'll see where the other wingers fall in. The 4th line looks pretty set, imo, unless Ruzicka can make some noise.
Looks like Dube, Toffoli and Pelletier will jostle for the top 3 lines, unless BT decides to trade or sign another RW (Kessel?). Pelletier on the 3rd line? Going to be a very fun team to watch.

Kadri's addition, solidifying the C position, is huge.
What would really help now is if Dube or Pelletier could take a step forward.
I am fine giving them the chance. And if they don't, the Flames can use the banked cap space to add a significant RW for the second half of the season

You know that was his nickname at some point in junior high.

Flames went into last year with an open spot in the top 4 left D and the battle was between Zadorov, Kylington, Valimaki or whoever else could step up and Kylington seized the opportunity after passing through waivers the year before.
I do feel Dube has more to give and could seize that spot but I also wonder if Coleman doesn’t just take a spot on one of the top 2 lines and is either RW for Lindy or Kadri?
I feel like if the Flames signed Kessel he would be on the 2nd line with Mangiapane and Backlund. If the Flames signed Rodrigues he would be on the third line with Bscklund and Dube while Coleman steps into one of the top 2 lines
Ring of Fire CGY with a nice video of all of Kadri's primary points from last season
That was a great highlight package. He moves pretty quick with the puck, and has better vision than I thought. He seems more than capable of driving the play for his line. There was some highlight reel goals in there. Really excited to see what this group can do now that they’re deep at center
