Nope. Rumours were McGrattan, Bouma, Monahan himself, Flames staff.

The team wasn't nearly as well-built back in those days, but man were there ever some fun times watching Johnny and Monahan rip it up together in their earlier days. That was probably the best and most fun relationship between players I've ever had the chance to watch develop on the Flames. They were joined at the hip, until Monahan's hips started failing him.

That was the whole problem. Monahan's hips were never rated for towing capacity. If he hadn't had another player joined to him there, he'd be 100% today.

2 goals for the guy in the pre-seaon vs Buffalo tonight.

Nothing but love for Mony where ever he goes and I have a feeling he will shine in Columbus this season.

It sickens me seeing Monahan in another team's jersey and I'll never forgive Treliving for it.

Paid a valuable 1st to not have him play one damn season. Just insanity.

Not really fair. If he wouldn't have traded Monahan and the first he couldn't have signed Huberdeau

You're thinking of Kadri. That was the reason for the trade to clear his cap hit. Huberdeau's contract was for the next season, he was still $5.9aav that year.

My recollection is that this is correct.

It breaks my heart that Johnny and Monny didn’t get the chance to be reunited

I was so looking forward to that

Yeah, I have no doubt a rejuvenated Johnny would have had 80+ points and a healthy Monahan on his line would have had 35+ goals, very sad.

He could have got a haul for Lindholm and kept Chucky to play on that line as well.

Treliving = NG
