I wouldn’t mind waiting until the deadline to do a move.

A Kane rental would fit nicely into our remaining cap space with a little retained.

The other other one that might fit is okposo.

I don’t see the need to do something now. This is a playoff team and having defensive depth during the regular season is important.

Emotionally. Toronto.

Though if he's only here 1 season, that won't build up.

#### it. I'm talking myself into Kessel.

He was elite in Toronto tho, they were just a very not good team at the time. He had a lot of scrutiny in Toronto because a lot of leaf fans were upset they traded the pick which ended up being Seguin for him (which is funny in retrospect as Seguin's career has derailed the last couple years).

I really doubt anyone would be overly critical of Kessel on a zero risk contract without giving up any assets tbh.

Kessel spent 5 years in Toronto with Kadri I wonder if that could potentially impact him signing here.

I would love to bring him here on a 1 year deal.

I wasn’t on board with Kessel, but that was before we got Kadri.

Honestly, as long as we have assurances that this iron man streak won’t be an issue and he would be okay with not playing the odd game if needed im all for it.

He can play with Mangiapane and Kadri. While they handle the defensive end he can get set up and get ready to shoot. Everyone on that line can pass and shoot really well.

Would be a decent stop gap solution

So you people think Fat Phil magically gets his passion back because he is a Flames?

Asking for James Neal

Loved the Versteeg impression on the fan last year when he mentioned how much of a beast Kessel was on the bench press
Those stories about Kessel were legendary!

I laughed my arse off at the gym stories and players giving him hell for his off ice eating habits. Was that Versteeg?

I need the archive of that segment.

It was stand up quality stuff.

I mean, I'm not saying that should happen, but I'd be okay with it.

I doubt Kane happens, and I don't like him much as a person, but he would be an amazing rental addition to go on a playoff run with. Can't help but respect that guy's talent and his history of coming up clutch at key moments.

If they signed Kessel my expectations would be super low but he isn't blocking any youth on the RW so worth a gamble.

Give me Patty Kane at the deadline.

What an epic team that would give us for the playoffs.

If Kessel can skate better than Tkachuk or Monahan it's a win on a one year deal.

Agreed. This roster is good enough to win the division as is. Accrue cap space and go big at the deadline. See if you can convince someone like Patrick Kane to waive for a cup run.

Where I have an issue with Pat Kane is the cost which will be a 23 1st rounder + for what surely is a rental. I look at what Florida did last season and it is full of regret with Chabot and Giroux. We need to keep our 1sts and I think it is hockey trades for the next while

I don’t know if Neal ever had the passion in his game or natural scoring ability made up for it. I actually think Phil has a passion for it
