Any advice on a giant dump haul

Long story short - I am from Victoria and helping my brother in Mahogany (who has mobility issues) get some house cleaning stuff done.

I am leaving on Sunday and my little truck can't handle the amount of dump runs. Being an outsider, I don't know any local services that can provide a service to remove this for him. There is 1-800-Got-Junk, but they are crazy expensive so I was hoping for something local.

Anyone got any recommendations?

You can just use the toilet, no need to call a dump company.

Post an ad on Kijiji and FB marketplace for Calgary; something like this:

"Looking for someone to remove old stuff from the house (household garbage only, no hazardous materials). Should fit in one U-Haul cube van load or whatever volume you think he might have there). Will pay $300 (or whatever you think is fair). Please contact asap.

You will be surprised at the amount of response you may receive.

There are loads of bin rental companies, just google that. For instance,

Hows your truck for towing?

Personally I like to just rent a small trailer for $100

Find the neighborhood Facebook page for mahogany, join it, and then search dump runs or dump - there always seems to be a neighborhood guy doing runs in every neighborhood

If you need to drive to the dump from mahogany, it is about 20 min each way

Also, Home Depot sells those dump bags where you biy them at Home Depot and a company picks them up. No idea on cost though.

Definitely go with the bin option. Nothing more convenient than having a giant bin on your curb to throw everything into and then not have to worry about removal. Just be careful about organizing the garbage inside the bin, so you don't have to get more than one run. Break down furniture if you can.

If you get the bin...see if you can put it in a secure location...back yard or something...

Nothing like hearing strangers dump stuff into your bin at night when its sitting on the curb / street.
