Flames Not Yet Done - More to Come? Possible D for F?
Was a bit hesitant to post, but...
-Ryan Leslie on 960 says there are a couple of players still on Brad's radar.
-Just heard second hand via someone listening to the radio, plus its Derek Wills, but Wills apparently said its very likely that the flames aren't done, and that there will be another trade to come? Referenced a defenseman for another top-6 type forward?
EDIT on the Wills front, don't know how to link to posts, ha, but someone noted:
"I heard this, and that’s what Wills said, though he was pretty clear that it was just a guess, and that he had a feeling the flames aren’t done here. The top 6 forward for defensemen was admittedly just an idea he had.
I honestly don’t think Wills is connected to the Flames in a way that would generate inside information on trades. Not really his style either"

I don't think it's necessary or efficient to have 6 D who are top 4 quality (which is arguably the state of the d core right now) and that's not counting Valimaki, Mackey, Stone. It makes sense to me. There's only so many minutes to go around. You do get diminishing returns at some point.

I agree. The Flames could go with McKay or Valimaki as the #6 guy and it wouldn't hurt them. Adding a top six winger would be more impactful.

I don't want to move Hanifin unless it is a key long term piece, that would be a deal I would be ok with.
