Not if the Flames win the cup. that beats everything. It's only a mistake it the flames choke again next playoffs.

That's a lot of term and a lot of money, but will be interesting to see how it all unfolds in the next couple seasons. Still missing a top 2 RW imo.

Too long and too much… if there’s a NMC and when does that kick in?
$7M when Kadri in years 4-7 is not going to be good value.
Of course one Stanley Cup and I’ll be flying back for the parade and gladly eating crow

Omg! Wow!
Two legendary days in such short succession.
I called it too. I knew the Flames were still in this!
That said I'm not thrilled with the length. This should be 5 years IMO. I don't think he had a lot of suitors at this point so no need to max out the term. I'd have been fine with waiting longer to get that term down.
7M is fine for the first half. Him and Huby could get ugly but this team is loaded short term!

I’m not a Kadri fan…never have been. So the results better warrant 7 years of Kadri, or whatever it turns out to be.

He scored at a 100 point pace...$7 isn't "too much"

Worry about 2026 in 2026. The cap could be $150m, the Flames could pull the next Gaudreau out of some late round pick. Play to win now and worry about the credit card debt when it comes due then. They'll have to rebuild at some point.

Have to give to get. Our window is now. In 3-5 years we might have to finally rebuild. But for 2023/24/25 and maybe 26, you’ve gotta go for it.

Holy smokes, absolutely terrible contract.
It is truly unbelievable that Treliving has handed out the worst contract 3 times in his 8 offseasons as a GM.

My only worry is that this is his retirement contract. He had a dominant playoff run and won the cup, he has nothing left to prove. I just hope he has enough left in the tank for a few good seasons at least, I really don't want James Neal 2.0
